Porno Dan, Immoral Productions Land New Reality Show

LOS ANGELES — Notorious producer Porno Dan and his production assistant Brandon Macintosh are the subjects of a new reality show being filmed for international broadcast this fall.

Titled “The Right Hand,” the show revolves around Macintosh and Porno Dan’s often outrageous daily activities as they produce and shoot hardcore sex scenes for Leal’s company Immoral Productions.

Twelve 30-minute episodes of the series will be broadcast on Canada’s The Movie Network and Movie Central beginning in November through a distribution deal with the Toronto-based EWL Media.

“The concept is about the adventures that my production assistant Brandon and I have in our happy little world of shooting porn,” said Immoral CEO Dan Leal, aka Porno Dan, an 11-year veteran of the adult industry originally from Washington D.C.

“They’ve already filmed our trips to Chicago for the Exxxtacy Show, New Orleans for Mardi Gras, Vegas [for AEE], and our live shows in Los Angeles.”

While at the Immoral headquarters in Chatsworth, Calif., Leal & Co. shoot live content five days a week for their network of websites and their DVD distribution deal with Pure Play Media.

The “The Right Hand” film crew has shot footage of Leal doing everything from quality control to box cover design and “every single facet of content production,” he said. In addition to his business dealings, “The Right Hand” will also offer a candid glimpse into his social life as he makes the rounds at industry parties, where he has long been known as a free spirit.

“We shot the pilot at the Exxxtacy show last July in Chicago. They shot the pilot on spec, and then the pilot got picked up,” Leal said.

He said the producers actually approached him about doing the series after conversations with Pure Play Media CEO Richard Arnold, who saw the absurdity of some of Leal’s daily life while both were at the Venus Berlin Show in October 2009. Arnold is the executive producer of “The Right Hand.”

“We’ve already shot eight of the 12 episodes and we have three more to shoot in LA and then the season finale,” Leal said, noting that the show is R-rated with nudity but no hardcore sex.

“It’s not as hard as some of the shows on cable right now,” Leal said.

His right-hand man, Macintosh, a recent college graduate and aspiring filmmaker, got the Immoral gig after responding to an online job posting.

“We got over 100 applicants and he was the best one,” Leal said. “We told him that part of what your job entailed was being filmed.”

In addition to Leal and Macintosh, numerous adult performers and Immoral Productions regulars appear on the show, which is billed as a “docu-soap series.”

“Ralph Long is in a lot of the episodes, of course my partner Jim Powers and some of the girls,” Leal said.

Notably, porn stars Amy Brooke, Jessie Andrews, Haley Cummings, Victoria White, Jackie Daniels, Sindee Jennings, Britney Amber, Sea J. Raw, Sara Jay, Charisma Cappelli and Heather Starlet all have been filmed.

“There’s a ton of others too, probably at least 30 different girls,” he continued. “I’ve never done anything like this before. Nothing can compare. I didn’t realize how much work it is but I enjoy it.”

Leal, who has an economics degree from George Mason University and worked for 10 years in corporate sales for Fortune 500 companies prior to porn, said the experience so far has been a blast.

“I’ve always loved the camera since I was a little boy,” Leal said. “My favorite story is when my uncle got married, I was the ring bearer and I kept waving at the camera because everyone wanted to take my picture. So to me it’s a great thing having a camera following me all day. Some people would think it’s too intrusive. Not me, I think it’s fantastic.”

On Thursday night, Leal’s company teamed with AEBN and L.A. Direct Models to raise almost $3,000 for breast cancer awareness by throwing a fundraising party at Studio City’s R Lounge in association with King Ryan Events.

“Our goal was to raise a thousand and we did more than double that,” Leal said.
