Metro Imitates Netflix, Gives Away Harley

HOLLYWOOD — Metro Entertainment became the latest company to bring the Netlfix DVD delivery model to adult entertainment with the launch of Goflix.com Tuesday. The new site will provide access to Metro’s vast library, all of which can be ordered online and delivered to a consumer’s mailbox.

More than 30,000 adult films can be rented from the site, and with fulfillment centers in place throughout the country, company representatives promised delivery time would never be more than a couple of days.

Memberships rates start at $14.95 per month for two DVDs at a time. Video-on-demand content also is scheduled to be available on the site soon, and users will be able to buy DVDs directly from the site as well.

To celebrate the launch, Goflix.com will host a series of promotional prize packages for site visitors, including a 2006 Harley Davidson Fat Boy Motorcycle, LCD TVs and portable DVD players.

“We intend to make Goflix a one-stop porn paradise that everybody can visit over and over again,” spokesperson Matt Corona said. “And who wouldn’t want a beautiful new Harley?”

Corona said contestants could register to win via the Goflix.com site. Winners will be announced on July 3.

On top of the company’s promotional prizes, Metro plans to pour more than $1 million into site promotions over the next six months, with three million free promotional discs being offered at retail stores, in magazines and with each new Metro Interactive adult DVD title.
