“I’m here a lot. This is my baby,” Prochazka tells XBIZ. “We do everything from scratch. I love fashion. I love colors. I’ve wanted to have my own store since I was 15. What you see in the store is my personality.”
The word “vibrant” comes to mind. Prochazka brings smiles to her customers’ faces with her eye for what’s hot and her knack for having just the right piece for any given occasion. Maybe it’s a Halloween costume, or a movie shoot, a feature-dance booking or just a romantic evening with a significant other. Bizzy B has you covered. Customized service is B’s specialty.
“My customers are like family,” she says. “I’m so lucky. I say that to myself every day. I’m very blessed. I appreciate everything that comes from this.”
Beatrice, who was born in Oslo, Norway and moved to Los Angeles in 1999, has previously graced the cover of Norwegian Playboy magazine. Earlier this summer she was pictured in a Maxim spread in the magazine’s U.K. edition. She and her husband Shawn, a former Chippendale dancer in Europe who co-manages Bizzy B, have become celebrities in her native country. Recently, they appeared on a reality TV show that aired in Norway called “Norwegian Hollywood Housewives.” In addition to helping his wife with the day-to-day, Shawn built out the Bizzy B store and handles all the construction within the space.
“The key has been that we’ve changed, we’ve transformed,” he says. “We make our own stuff. We design our own products that are different from what everybody else sells. We concentrate on quality and we concentrate on the colors and fabrics, so basically the overall outcome is better. You can’t compete with originality.”
He continues, “We do clothing, bathing suits, lingerie and as far as variety there isn’t anything that we can’t make — bras, bathing suits, dancewear... We make stripper vests, corsets. We make stuff for the Black Eyed Peas, custom pieces. … Monster Energy drink, we dabble in all of it.”
Shawn also points to the range of sizes Bizzy B stocks; the store can accommodate any body type.
“We go down to extra small on almost everything,” he says. “We’re not making a one-size bathing suit or one-size piece. We can encompass more butts and more tits. Breasts are not one size, nor are asses.”
Bizzy B opened in July 2001 and since has built a clientele that reads like a who’s who of adult entertainment and beyond. Tera Patrick wears Bizzy B, and so do Paris Hilton and Pamela Anderson. And Jessica Drake and Nikki Benz. Shyla Stylez comes in, and so does Brooke Burke. The list of Bizzy B regulars is staggeringly impressive. Scores of B’s legion of high-profile, loyal customers can be seen in signed, 8x10 “thank you” photos on the walls of the store.
“Almost anybody that’s anybody in the business knows Beatrice and she’s styled them in one way or another,” says Shawn’s brother Jeff Prochazka, who helps oversee Bizzy B’s growing online store at BSeductive.com. “One of the producer-directors came in and told Beatrice she single-handedly changed porn because of the colors and material that she uses on the actors and actresses.”
Among the models sporting Bizzy B bathing suits and more at BSeductive.com are adult film stars Lela Star, Marie Luv and Courtney Cummz. And several of the porn performers represented by James Bartholet's Galaxy Publicity have appeared at the store for autograph signing events in recent weeks.
Award-winning porn director Jules Jordan is a Bizzy B client.
“I go there quite a bit. It’s kind of a staple,” he tells XBIZ. “What’s cool about Bizzy B is as a buyer you can tell she really takes the time to buy outfits that are unique to Hollywood Boulevard, as opposed to all the other places. You can tell that she buys the right stuff and just has a great eye for the type of clothes that she sells.”
Jordan continues, “To top it off, her customer service is great. It’s great to buy from someone who is real knowledgeable about all that type of stuff. Her and her husband are genuinely friendly people. You really get the sense that you’re friends with these people. Since I’ve known her they’ve expanded into more of a boutique that has novelties and a little bit of videos as well as all the dancewear and sexy clothes and stuff like that. Whereas a lot of places have these cheap costumes, her stuff is really the highest quality stuff on Hollywood Boulevard.”
Beatrice says she is proud of her store, which has also benefited from media exposure in LA Weekly, the Los Angeles Times and on UPN Channel 13 and Fox 11 in Los Angeles, among numerous others. She says her flair for designing comes from within.
“I’ve had it in my heart since I was little,” Beatrice says.
