Perfect 10, Amazon Settle Copyright Infringement Lawsuit

LOS ANGELES — Five years after it was filed, Perfect 10 and Amazon have settled their copyright infringement lawsuit.

Norm Zada, Perfect 10's owner, told XBIZ the terms of the settlement were confidential and details weren’t disclosed.

Perfect 10 sued Amazon over thumbnail images of nude pictures it said can be viewed on Amazon.com search sites like A9.com.

Perfect 10 filed a motion for an injunction to keep Amazon from copying, displaying and distributing Perfect 10 copyrighted images.

While Zada wouldn’t comment on the lawsuit, he did have this to say about the federal justice system.

“I think the U.S. government needs to look into providing more funding to the justice system. The judges are underpaid and overworked. They need more support staff. They have a backlog of cases which works to the detriment of the plaintiff. Decisions are not made quickly enough for the plaintiff to be able to survive through the process," he said.

Perfect 10 markets and sells copyrighted images of nude models. It also operates a subscription website where users pay a monthly fee to view images in a member’s area of the site.

Perfect 10’s copyright infringement lawsuit against Google is still ongoing.
