Unzipped Media Announces Freshman of the Year Party

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Gay men’s magazine publisher Unzipped Media has announced that the Freshman of the Year will be announced at a party on Thursday, Aug. 20, at TigerHeat at the Avalon in Hollywood.

"This year's Freshman of the Year contest is particularly exciting for us and the fans who voted because of the diverse, personable, and simply gorgeous finalists," Unzipped Media Assistant Editor Zach Sire told XBIZ. "We're confident there's something for everyone among the top five guys."

The September issue of Freshmen, which will arrive at newsstands and be available online Aug. 18, features all five Freshman of the Year finalists — Kirk Cummings (pictured), Trent Davis, Dylan McLovin, Marcus Mojo and Zack Randall — with the winner pictured on the cover.

Founded in 1984, Los Angeles-based Unzipped Media publishes Men, Freshmen, and Unzipped magazines. Unzipped Media brands can be found on the shelves of retailers including Barnes & Noble, Waldenbooks and Borders bookstores. The company’s Unzipped.net website brings the Unzipped brand to a wider tech-aware audience. GayWired.com, an entertainment Internet portal for the LGBT communities, is also a part of the Unzipped Media Family.
