Pepper Law Group Debuts '2257 Services

SOMERVILLE, N.J. — Pepper Law Group (PLG) has announced its launch of third party custodian of records services

The services target producers required to comply with the 18 U.S.C. '2257 federal recordkeeping requirements and 28 C.F.R. Part 75.

"If you operate an adult website or produce adult film, chances are you need to comply with these federal laws," Attorney Dan Pepper said.

"Until recently, you, as the producer, needed to maintain these records and publish your name and address so the Department of Justice could inspect these records at your location without notice," Pepper added. "As a result of recent updates to the law, producers are now able to hire third party custodians to maintain these records and make them available to the Department of Justice."

According to the firm, the new service offerings include the maintenance and indexing of client records, as well as serving as the designated contact on '2257 compliance notices.

"One of the few positives from the updated federal record keeping and labeling laws is the ability for producers to reduce their record storage and maintenance burden, as well as increase their privacy," Pepper told XBIZ. "We've developed an easy, secure, and affordable process for producers to do just that."

PLG will also work directly with the Attorney General's office should an inspection of records occurs, allowing clients to maintain their privacy — and offers the peace of mind of having a qualified legal team overseeing the records in a secure location.

"We're thrilled to finally be able to meet the enormous demand we've received for these services," Pepper concluded.
