Home-based Adult Studio in Bulgaria Raided by Local Police

SVISHTOV, Bulgaria — Local authorities have busted a home-based business where live sex sessions were allegedly filmed for an unidentified U.S. adult website.

Bulgarian couples were allegedly paid 500 leva — roughly $366 — to appear on camera at the home, which is near the center of Svishtov, a town in northern Bulgaria, according to news reports.

Among the 20 to 30 amateur performers were a local waitress and her boyfriend. All of the performers were between 18 and 20 years old.

Police found the studio, operated by a 30-year-old Svishtov man, while investigating a burglary. Local media reported that the house was rented by several businessmen, who also covered various expenses associated with the business, legally registered as a company that hosts online erotic chat.

In October, XBIZ reported that the U.S. embassy in Sofia issued a security alert advising tourists to stay away from the country’s strip clubs, where turf wars between rival criminal gangs have taken place.
