Payment Processor CommerceGate Looks to Break Into U.S. Market

DUBLIN, Ireland — Payment processor CommerceGate has set its sights on doing more business in the U.S. after successfully growing its billing clientele across the European Union.

The company’s core business is based around multiple banking relationships associated with their strategic partners. Among the services carried are redundant processing systems, advanced security and integrated proprietary fraud filters that ensure safe and secure transactions.

“CommerceGate can now offer a full global solution with the infrastructure, technical ingenuity and secure banking relationships to compete at the highest level,” a company spokesperson told XBIZ.

One of the two strategic partnerships executed by the company place it in an unenviable position of competing against one of its strategic partners in February’s XBIZ Awards.

CommerceGate and DHD Media were each nominated as “billing company of the year.” The other strategic partner is SegPay.

“Commerce Gate has been nominated three times and we are very proud of that fact,” said Bjorn Skarlen, CEO of CommerceGate. “Our strategic partnership with DHD Media and SegPay has only strengthened that position while giving the industry, as a whole, a time tested alternative to the status quo.

“So, whether CommerceGate or DHD Media win is irrelevant, either way it will only enhances and strengthens the alliances that have been put in place,” Skarlen said.

The company has client service offices in California, Florida and Barcelona, with 24/7 customer service departments in Canada, Panama, Philippines, Spain and the U.S.
