The larger venue will accommodate 10 new vendors for a total of 45 manufacturers and designers of high-quality sensual products. There also will be a food section, a full bar, and a schedule of educational seminars, fashion shows and entertainment. Organizers expect between 4,000 and 5,000 attendees at the one-day show.
“Love LA continues to evolve into a destination in which women and couples, especially, can enhance virtually every facet of their sensual lives," said event creator Ian Denchasy of couples-oriented adult retailer Freddy and Eddy, which started Love LA earlier this year.
The Love LA show is aimed at couples, and makes it a point to be free of pornography, harsh lighting and a male-dominated crowd.
“Last year, we proved two main points," Denchasy wrote about Love LA in a recent newspaper column. "First, with attendance leaning over 60 percent female, the myth that ladies don’t care about sex was effectively shattered. Second, we were able to draw significant crowds — in a torrential downpour, I might add — despite the absence of pornography.
"The booth costs continue to be low, and the admission price is kept to a minimum,” Denchasy said. “We want visitors to explore their options with adult products, services, education and lingerie in a sexy, pressure-free atmosphere."
Seminars will be led by sex experts including Mistress Midori, Nina Hartley, Jamye Waxman, Regina Lynn and Patti Britton.
“Last year Love LA broke ground with an amazing and well received show,” Love LA Education Director Kristen Tribby said. “This year is going to be bigger and better while still providing an intimate experience.”
Tribby also works full time as director of marketing and education at adult store The Pleasure Chest.
A lineup of fashion and lingerie shows and sexy performances, including a special act by the Sassy Minxx dance group, are planned throughout the day at two different staging areas. Product manufacturers represented at Love LA include Tantus Inc., OhMiBod, Fun Factory, Pjur, Sportsheets and Shunga.
