A video for the aptly titled “Girlz Gone Wild” song, from Lil’ Goonie’s forthcoming album debut for Jive, will be distributed to TV outlets as the rapper joins the Girls Gone Wild bus tour, according to a statement.
The song will also be featured in commercials and infomercials and run on major networks such as SpikeTV, Comedy Central, MTV and FUSE.
"Of all the Girls Gone Wild songs we've received over the past 10 years, this has to be the best one,” said Eric Deutsch, Mantra Films’ senior vice president of production. “In a new age of innovative deals that co-brand music with other media entities, this is very exciting for us and we look forward to doing more cross promotion with Jive, Battery and Sony Music Entertainment.”
Neil Levine, senior vice president and general manager at Jive’s Battery imprint, which signed Lil Goonie, said: "This is an amazing marriage pairing the strong Girls Gone Wild brand with Lil Goonie and his anthem ‘Girlz Gone Wild.’ It should instantly give us the right visuals in the marketplace along with some great marketing opportunities. This is a win-win for everyone involved."
The rapper’s signing is a part of "Hollywood Gone Wild," a new venture for Mantra Films, the company behind the Girls Gone Wild DVD series that “rakes in $100 million per sales annually,” according to a statement from RED, a division of Sony Music Entertainment. Goonie, at 19, is one of the youngest members of the national campaign.
Goonie was signed to Jive by Mark Pitts, the former manager of the Notorious B.I.G., Faith Evans and Nas, who currently serves as A&R for Usher, Ciara and Chris Brown.
