Mallick, Christian and RRRed organized the fundraising drive, which will donate all proceeds to The American Red Cross and its Hurricane 2005 Relief Fund.
Mallick’s ePassporte kicked off the fundraising drive with a $5,000 donation accompanied by a broad plea to fellow adult professionals, clients, friends associates to donate “what you can, as fast as you can.”
“If you have seen the pictures it is hard to believe the devastation,” Mallick said. “I know many of us have incredible memories of New Orleans and other spots down south. Those memories and experiences are because of the people there. Now those people need the help of anyone that has a few dollars to spare.”
According to Mallick, donations can be made via ePassporte with no transfer fee or costs by logging on to ePassporte or by sending a transfer to user name: hurricanefund.
Similar to its efforts to help tsunami victims, the adult webmaster community formed a relief fund in 2001 for those affected by the events of Sept. 11 in New York City.
“Food and shelter are luxuries that are not available even if these poor people had money – but The American Red Cross knows how to deliver relief, and fast, with funding,” Mallick said.
Donations will be posted by ePassporte, unless donors wish to remain anonymous, Mallick said.
“In this situation, we feel that it is best to at least let your peers know that you are donating, although you may want to keep the amount private.”
