Communion

When I was growing up, we’d often go to church and take communion. If I knew then what I just watched on this two-disc set, I’d have gone screaming from the church. (Well, okay, my parents would.)

This leather extravaganza, from the creative mind of director Steven Scarborough, features some of the hottest performers working in the gay porn biz today. When it came down to a big budget epic, Scarborough threw the gauntlet down.

With “Communion,” he goes easy on story and strong on imagery. There are some amazing shots that are captured in this movie. Among other things.

First off, there’s not one unattractive man in the bunch. Second, the scene with Vinnie D’Angelo, Matt Cole and Steve Cruz is a scorcher — as Cruz is affixed to a sling, only his furry butt hanging over the edge allowing Cole and D’Angelo to do their dirty bidding. Third, the energy is off the hook. You can really tell these guys are having a good time.

Finally, the second disc in the set, which revolves around fisting kings Alex Collack and the late Kent North inducting powerhouse Josh Weston into their “club,” is worth the price of the disc. Weston takes his first on-screen fist in this film — and it’s not a short scene.

“Communion” is yet another title of which Scarborough should be very proud.
