Show Me the Money, Mobile?

Everyone talks about all the money that mobile porn will make! I couldn't agree more that mobile porn will make a ton of money. Too bad the money will not be for the adult industry but rather for the mainstream hardware providers. How many times does this have to happen to the adult industry? We brought VHS, DVD and camcorders to the general public, and yet we still pay a royalty to the DVD manufacturers when we replicate our DVDs.

Mainstream has never endorsed adult, so we are always out there on our own. We build the greatest technology money can buy, then it usually gets changed or some mainstream company has to turn its back on us because of a bigger deal with another mainstream company.

I am of the opinion that the first time a senator's child gets porn on his cellphone, iPod or PSP, we will be under attack like never before. When do I see the money, or should I say the profit? An adult studio sends out a press release saying they have put porn on a PSP. But does that adult studio get a cut? No way! Instead they get a call or a letter from a very large law firm saying to never mention it again or they will be sued. So where is the money now?

Until we get together and actually create a standard instead of letting mainstream jerk us around, we will only be seeing the money going out, not coming in.

On another thought, how exactly am I going to watch porn on a 1.4-inch screen driving down the 101 in Los Angeles from the Galleria to Westlake Village when my phone loses signal three times along the way? Can you see me now? No!
