Sweetie Fox never expected, or even aspired, to become the top-ranked model on Pornhub. It just turned out that way.
Born in the city of Yekaterinburg, located east of the Ural Mountains in central Russia, Fox was always drawn to art and design. Add to that being a huge “Lord of the Rings” fan, and it was a natural leap to get into cosplay — especially once it began exploding across social media sites such as Instagram and Twitch, which allowed people to show off their work and connect with fans.
When work brings pleasure, the need for rest does not seem so critical.
One of Fox’s trademarks is her ability to seamlessly navigate the worlds of cosplay and adult content, as she thrives in both realms. She enjoys embodying fictional characters through incredibly detailed costumes, and has an entire OnlyFans account devoted to her SFW cosplay adventures.
Her greatest success, however, has been on Pornhub, where her 300-plus videos have drawn over a billion views and garnered her 2.4 million subscribers. She boasts the same number of followers on Instagram, and has parlayed that success into more than 600,000 likes on her spicy OnlyFans page, which today accounts for the majority of her income.
In appealing to multiple audiences, Fox has helped redefine the concept of success among independent creators in the digital age. Her rise signals a cultural shift in how we consume adult content.
Now, as this month’s cover star, Sweetie Fox proves that 2.4 million Pornhub subscribers can’t be wrong.
XBIZ: What led you to a career in the adult industry?
FOX: I was into creating erotic art, so I never had any preconceptions that pornography was something immoral or disgusting, and my husband and I often shared nudes and made home videos just for ourselves. One day, I came across an article on the internet about a couple who had registered on Pornhub and gained a solid audience in six months.
We decided to give it a try — more for fun than for any serious purpose. We never considered it as a way to earn money; we just enjoyed filming and wanted to share it with others. When we uploaded our first video to Pornhub, we had no expectations. But after getting rave reviews, we started shooting more content. With each new video, our audience grew. This inspired us to continue and improve what initially started as a simple experiment.
XBIZ: What lessons did you learn early on, as you climbed to the next level?
FOX: The very first lesson was to not be greedy. I made custom videos for $20 at the beginning of my journey. Then, step by step, I built up an audience and loyal fans who paid more and more.
The second lesson was to invest your profits. It is very important not to lose your head from your first earnings, but to manage them wisely. We spent our first earnings on new equipment and outfits for filming. We are still investing money, since it allows us to not stand still, and to constantly improve the quality of content.
And the most important lesson: Always watch your cybersecurity and only shoot with a trusted person. Never share personal information with strangers as this can put you at risk. The best option is to do porn with a regular partner, someone with whom you have a trusting relationship. You have to remember: everything that gets on the internet stays there forever, so approach it consciously and responsibly.
XBIZ: How would you describe your overall brand as a creator, and the kind of content your fans appreciate most?
FOX: Briefly, amateur porn. We create content that everyone can relate to. What’s special is the variety of content we have: cosplay, fetishes, story videos and just regular homemade porn. I experiment with hair color, different outfits and makeup to always bring something new to the work. On Pornhub, our most popular content is creative videos with an interesting plot or unusual atmosphere. On OnlyFans, cosplay content is most in demand, as I make it only for that site.
XBIZ: How did your love for cosplay end up helping launch your adult career?
FOX: Ever since I was a kid, I have always loved to reincarnate into different characters and experiment with my appearance. As a teenager, I got into anime and manga, watching with interest all the amazing cosplays I found on the internet. Later, when I started creating adult content, I noticed that the cosplay genre was very modestly represented. The idea of filling this niche and expressing myself through it was a perfect fit. What I enjoy most is dressing up as characters from anime or games that I like.
I would really like to cosplay the anime “Berserk” this year! It is my all-time favorite manga, truly a masterpiece that greatly influenced me as a teenager. It’s also one of the reasons why my husband and I got along so well together — he’s also a “Berserk” fan. I also really love “Castlevania,” “Fullmetal Alchemist” and “Claymore.”
XBIZ: Tell us about building your following, marketing yourself and becoming Pornhub’s top-ranked model.
FOX: Popularity and becoming No. 1 was far from a sudden thing — it was a gradual process. Viewers can see how much I have changed and how our content has changed over these past five years. We are not ashamed of our early works! They may have been of lower quality, but they were made with heart, and that’s what matters. I think the secret was the variety of content and regularity. In the beginning, we posted new videos every two days. We still release consistently, but now just three to four videos a month.
At first, we never promoted our account; people found us on their own and the videos gained views, hit the top and became even more popular. Now, I have assistants who manage Twitter and Reddit, and I manage Instagram myself. For me, free promotion tools are the most successful.
The main thing is to follow trends and develop your strengths. The key to successful marketing is understanding your audience’s needs and being able to balance content diversity with personal brand development. As Sweetie Fox, I can still be myself, but at the same time transform into a completely different person when trying on cosplay. Some viewers come for cosplay, while others appreciate more casual content. The key for me is to be able to maneuver between these areas, staying flexible and not limiting myself to one style.
In the end, though, I think our main appeal has always been a combination of creative spark and genuine love for what we do. We do what really brings us pleasure, and our audience feels it. We are constantly evolving, trying new things, improving our bodies and skills.
XBIZ: How do you approach work/life balance and staying healthy while juggling all of your responsibilities?
FOX: I guess I would call myself a workaholic. My main problem is that I don’t know how to rest! However, when work brings pleasure, the need for rest does not seem so critical. But I adhere to a healthy lifestyle: I don’t drink alcohol, I don’t smoke and I train in the gym every day. This not only strengthens my body but also helps me develop discipline, a quality that is indispensable in any business.
XBIZ: What was your favorite project over this past year?
FOX: We came up with a porn series based on Dungeons & Dragons, which we shot on our own, without professional production and in a short period of time. The first episode was a real success, with 14.1 million views. Recognizing its shortcomings, we were able to make the next installment even more dynamic and exciting. This project was an amazing experience thanks to teamwork with friends and a having lot of fun in the process of creation.
The fans seem to love it too. At the AGA convention in Taipei, a fan found me among the crowd and handed me a handmade miniature of my character from the series. It was my most memorable gift, very sweet and precious to me.
XBIZ: Are there any particular performers with whom you really share strong chemistry, or who consistently help you elevate your content?
FOX: A year ago, I met Diana Rider and we quickly became close friends. We now often shoot content together, as well as just meeting up to talk and spend time together outside of work. Diana is also incredibly hardworking and is starting to enjoy growing success because of that.
XBIZ: How do you like to spend your time when you’re not working?
FOX: I continue to paint and create cosplay costumes. I love working with my hands; it gives me peace of mind and harmony. This year, I discovered a new interest: archery, which immediately captivated me. I also have a sphynx cat named Chupacabra, whom I love very much. Unfortunately, now she lives with our friends because we can’t keep animals in our rented apartment. But we plan to take her back once we move to a new home!
XBIZ: What’s next for you, in 2025 and beyond?
FOX: Professionally, I want to focus on social media development, in addition to filming content. In the future, we plan to open our own business in another field. For now, I plan to focus more on my personal projects and hobbies, spend more time with my loved ones and travel. I love discovering interesting new places!X
