As a veteran nightlife/event photographer experienced with doing creator outreach for APClips, I don’t think I am exaggerating when I say that I have mastered the art of capturing candid photos and selfies in these environments. Here are the selfie queen’s top tips for anyone who wants to do the same!

Find the Magic in Behind-the-Scenes Content
BTS content offers a personal glimpse into the event experience and allows your audience to connect with you on a more authentic level. Fans love candid shots that capture real-life environments and unguarded moments when your genuine personality shines through. That could mean a mirror selfie of your outfit, random shots of the event you’re attending or simple selfies with other creators. This type of footage resonates because it feels natural, real and unfiltered — exactly what audiences are looking for.
BTS shots are also opportunities for engagement. They allow you to tag others, share reposts and connect with new audiences while building a personal connection with your followers. When documenting these moments, aim to stay light and spontaneous rather than overly planned. The best behind-the-scenes moments are always the most unexpected.
Pack the Essentials
You don’t need an entire production studio to get great shots on the show floor. With the right portable gear, you can elevate your photo game without carrying an entire kit around.

Bear in mind, you want to keep everything lightweight, portable and versatile, especially if you’re attending an awards show. If it can fit in a small bag or purse, it’s totally worth having.
