When Girlsway launched back in 2014, Bree Mills had a plan. As head of production for Gamma Entertainment, she set out to up the stakes of all-girl content with the new imprint — and to continually, proactively reinvent the brand and its offerings along the way. Sticking to that mission and maintaining a flexible, chameleon like approach, Girlsway ushered in a creative renaissance that has enabled it to endure, adapt and thrive for the past 10 years.
“Girlsway entered the market at just the right time,” Mills recalls. “Lesbian content was starting to dominate keywords and trend charts, allowing us to grow into one of the biggest lesbian brands.”
We’ve found that our success comes from striking a balance between consistently delivering on core niches and keeping things fresh with new series.
Between 2015 and 2017, Girlsway produced 10 all-girl features that came to define the brand, not to mention various miniseries and featurettes. Mills — who today serves as chief creative officer for Adult Time — says she felt immense pride when a fan described that era as the “Marvel Comics of Lesbian Porn.”
“Our lesbian porn fans are among the most vocal on Adult Time,” she observes. “While they may not always love everything we release, you can always count on them to tune in and share their feedback.”
In fact, for many years Girlsway crowdsourced a portion of its episodes directly from fans, a tradition that played a crucial role in building a base of diehard members. However, as the brand expanded and integrated into the larger Adult Time platform, Mills noticed that fan-sourced content had less impact on a broader audience, and Girlsway officially retired member stories just before the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since then, Girlsway content has focused more on serving the niches represented by its core series while also diversifying its offerings by developing new lesbian series like “True Lesbian” and “Lez Be Bad.” This shift has helped stabilize the brand during a period of growth in other areas, helping it become what Mills calls “the official home base for all of Adult Time’s lesbian content.” Mills also recognizes the importance of specialty projects, which she has reintroduced this year with features like “Come Out to Play: An All-Girl Warriors Parody” and Casey Calvert’s “Spun.”
Now, as Girlsway celebrates 10 years in the business, XBIZ sits down with the CCO to reflect on past and present successes, as well as future plans.
The Right Ingredients
So, how does a brand like Girlsway rack up such an impressive track record over a decade?
“We’ve found that our success comes from striking a balance between consistently delivering on core niches and keeping things fresh with new series,” Mills says. “Our core series has a distinct aesthetic that we’ve maintained for years, making the brand easily recognizable. However, I love being able to give each lesbian series we produce its own unique brand identity. This approach ensures that the overall catalog on Girlsway.com feels eclectic, creating the sense of an all-girl streaming universe.
“A diverse mix of series and projects is part of our appeal,” she adds. “Offering high-quality content that caters to the full spectrum of lesbian porn fandom helps keep us strong and relevant with our audience. Plus, everything we produce is guided by audience analytics, ensuring we deliver what fans truly want.”
Mills lays out what that blueprint means for the brand right now.
“Girlsway currently revolves around two core series,” she explains. “‘Mommy’s Girl,’ our family role-play fantasy series, and ‘Girlsway Originals,’ which offers a mix of diverse casting and comedic themes. These are complemented by other lesbian content on Adult Time, including the award-winning ‘Switch,’ ‘True Lesbian,’ ‘All Girl Massage,’ ‘Lez Be Bad’ and ‘We Like Girls’ series.”
As for newer fare from the past year, Mills cites a few releases that have inspired considerable enthusiasm from fans.
“I’m particularly proud of Casey’s return to writing and directing at Adult Time with ‘Spun,’ which in many ways captures the vibe of ‘Teenage Lesbian,’ and our work with ambassador Lauren Phillips on her series ‘Switch,’ which has consistently topped the charts since its 2023 launch,” Mills says. “Additionally, our series ‘Lez Be Bad,’ created in 2023 and directly inspired by audience data, is now being watched at the same pace as our core series, which is a fantastic achievement for our content team.”
Keeping things fresh naturally also entails striving to stay on the cutting edge. Mills shares an example.
“The recent rise in popularity of lesbian BDSM and rough sex content led us to deliver several new series,” she notes. “It’s essential to keep our budget flexible to invest in emerging trends, while also maintaining the core content that still attracts new subscribers every day.”
Of course, the Girlsway brand would not exist without the creative team behind the scenes and the performers in front of the camera. Mills says she feels gratified to have been helped nurture and inspire talent along the way.
“Today’s Girlsway is the result of collaboration by many talented people,” she affirms. “Our internal writing team handles most of the scripts, and we’ve partnered with producers like Ricky Greenwood, Anatomik Media, Stella Smut, and Siouxsie Q. and Michael Vegas to bring our core series to life.
“Then if you look at the casts from our recent projects, you’ll see a solid representation of who thrives within the Girlsway brand. It was exciting to bring together a diverse mix of OG favorites and popular new faces for ‘Spun’ and ‘Come Out to Play.’ One thing they all have in common, though, is that they are truly girls who like girls.”
Anniversary Special
The cast for “Come Out to Play: An All-Girl Warriors Parody” includes Little Puck, Jane Wilde, Hailey Rose, Codi Vore, Ana Foxxx, Casey Calvert, Leana Lovings, Serene Siren, Lulu Chu and Penny Barber, all of whom chimed in about their experiences working on the project.
Little Puck enthuses, “Celebrating the 10th anniversary of Girlsway with such a creative, fun project was one of the highlights of my year! Not only did we get to dive into the intense world of the original ‘Warriors’ film with awesome costumes and a gritty set, but I also had the chance to play Blaze, the leader of the Mantis gang.
“It was such a blast bringing that character to life alongside so many others, blending the fierce energy of the original with our own unique, sexy twist,” she adds. “The whole experience was a love letter to the film, to Girlsway — and to girls! I can’t wait for everyone to see what we’ve created.”
Jane Wilde declares that shooting Girlsway’s homage to the iconic “Warriors” was more fun than she can remember having in a long time.
“I think this will be a fan favorite for anyone who loves kinky, fun, hardcore lesbian insanity!” Wilde says. “I’m honored to have participated with these incredible performers and to have brought another unique vision to life.”
Hailey Rose was likewise thrilled to be part of something that she felt was so cool and “damn sexy.”
“Working with nine other incredible women was a rare treat and it was an honor to be included in such a special project,” she says. “I was excited going into the scene, and even more excited once we wrapped since you could feel the magic we created. I can’t wait for the fans to take in this wildly hot, ultra-naughty and lustfully indulgent all-girl orgy!”
Codi Vore notes that “Come Out to Play” was the biggest orgy she has ever been a part of, and says her only regret is not getting more time with everyone.
“I came on set with my nails cut short, ready to do some fisting … and I’m very glad I did, because my hands were very popular in this scene!” she reports proudly. “I’ve worked with a few of the models before but it was my first time with most of them, and they were all exceptionally kind, talented and fun to work with. This was an unforgettable experience, and one of those scenes that stands out as an all-time favorite.”
For Ana Foxxx, working with Girlsway and Adult Time is always enjoyable, but this occasion was extra special in her estimation.
“I love that they chose an iconic movie to parody for such an iconic scene,” Foxxx says. “It was a special treat having the opening dialogue for this scene with 10 fantastic girls. All in all, this scene left me feeling like it was my birthday.”
Girlsway veteran Casey Calvert says she experienced a “How time flies!” moment, remembering the brand’s fifth anniversary as if it was just yesterday.
“Celebrating the 10th was so much better!” she says. “It was such an honor to be invited to be a part of such a monumental orgy. My one request for the day was to die in a pile of girls and that was definitely accomplished. Happy 10th anniversary, Girlsway!”
This was Leana Lovings’ first all-girl orgy, and she says it did not disappoint.
“All day, the set was high-energy,” she recalls. “Even at the end, after the orgy’s peak, we didn’t want to stop. We all could have gone three more hours in the name of celebration and hedonism! I feel so much gratitude to Bree Mills and everyone on set who made this magic happen.”
Noted all-girl purist Serene Siren felt over the moon after the experience, during which she checked many items off her bucket list.
“I had a virgin moment during the orgy: I got fisted for the first time!” she exclaims. “It was from gorgeous Codi Vore, and her pretty little hand worked its way all the way in, while Casey Calvert held me and coached me through it. I really did feel like such a good girl after that. I thought it was really cool that the two gang leader characters got fisted back to back, as it felt like a genuinely climactic payoff. When we were all lined up in the face-off, I kept having moments where I had to shake myself. Like, ‘This is real life and I really get to pleasure all these superstars?’
“I tried to just do my role the best I could with that many lovely distractions around,” she continues. “The crew and set were fantastic as always, and we got the honor of being directed by Bree Mills! I am very grateful to have had the mastermind on location with us, leading us through every pivotal moment with passion. The overall attitude of everyone there was pure excitement. I loved the outfits, the makeup, the big hair, the even bigger attitudes — and that at the end of the day, all the conflict in the story gets resolved by licking lots of pussy!”
Lulu Chu concurs that filming Girlsway’s “Warriors” parody was a distinct experience, underscoring the time and effort put into creating it.
“From the outfits to the makeup to the set, everything felt so unique and purposeful,” she explains. “It felt so amazing to be included with the other girls, they’re all such talented and strong women. I can’t wait for this scene to come out!”
Acclaimed MILF Penny Barber also had an enjoyable time on set for Girlsway’s anniversary shoot.
“I’m very grateful for being involved, working with an all-star cast… and finally knowing what it’s like to have nine women come at me and tear my clothes off!” she laughs.
Stay Tuned, There’s More to Come
Like her enthusiastic cast members, Mills too had a memorable time shooting “Come Out to Play.” She says her return to writing and directing has been a lot of fun.
“It’s been a while!” she notes. “But just as I feel strongly about bringing back special projects, I feel a deep desire to share my voice again with the brand that launched my career.”
Mills points to the project as a positive indication of what the future may hold in store for Girlsway, as the all-girl juggernaut begins its second decade as an avenue for its top performers to flex their own directorial and creative chops in novel ways.
“Directing it really reminded me of the lasting power of the Girlsway brand,” she shares. “It’s a creative universe where women come together to put on a show, have a ton of fun and shoot some incredibly hot sex. I’m optimistic about incorporating more projects of this scale into our future lineup. Looking ahead, we’ll focus on bringing those vibes to even more of our productions and continuing to deliver a diverse array of exciting projects.
“I believe future growth will come from collaborating closely with performers to create all-girl projects they’re proud to promote,” she concludes, “and staying tuned in to our audience’s evolving desires.”
