For 25 years, YourPaysitePartner has teamed up with stars and entrepreneurial brands to bring their one-stop-shop adult content dreams to life — and given the indie paysite renaissance of the past few years, the company’s efforts have paid off in spades. The saying “Everything old is new again” comes to mind.
With the proliferation of premium social media, camming and clip-selling platforms, there is a newfound hunger for creators seeking to become studios unto themselves, as the lines blur between traditional production powerhouses and operations like YPP client Ricky Johnson’s rapidly-expanding Ricky’s Room.
We create custom sites from concept to launch, working with our partners to ensure the look, flow, features and function are true to their brand.
“The explosion of fan sites has brought in so many new creators and a whole new client base to our industry,” YPP head honcho Kenny B notes. “Savvy content creators realize having a paysite is key to building their brand, owning their customer data and ensuring the longevity of their business. Platform rules are forever changing, surfers’ habits change, laws change in states and countries, so having their own site creates a constant.”
Kenny B got his start with amateur sites back in 1999 and has been evolving with the times ever since. A consistent throughline for him, however, has been staying true to the paysite vertical.
“We are perfectly positioned, and in my mind the best option for content creators and producers looking to start or bring their sites to the next level,” he explains. “Years ago, the subscription model was the tried, tested and true way of monetizing content. Today, fan sites, clip stores and premium social media options have changed the way people consume and pay for porn. While a paysite remains a fantastic avenue to monetize content, it’s now one of many.”
One shift Kenny B has observed: Subscription-based sites and VOD sites were once traditionally separate business models, but now YPP is increasingly seeing impressive results from creating hybrid sites offering both options on site tours.
“What hasn’t changed is that your paysite gives you a home base,” he observes. “It’s yours and you own it. This is unlike social media platforms, clip stores, fan platforms, etc., which offer no promises.”
To help creators take advantage of the current marketplace, Kenny B says, YPP’s full suite of services covers “everything but producing the content.”
“We are here to work with our partners to monetize their content,” he says. “Paysites are our primary focus and revenue generator. We create custom sites from concept to launch, working with our partners to ensure the look, flow, features and function are true to their brand. Once the site is launched, we handle affiliate marketing, promotional material, support and payouts.”
Ultimately, the YPP team wants partners to have the time and headspace to create and market their content, less burdened by concerns such as customer and tech support, hosting, payment processing and implementing age verification.
“If they need creatives, editing or help with their socials, we have their back,” Kenny B affirms. “Partnering with YPP gives them a team of 70 — and growing — to work with them and support them in building their brand.”
When it comes to billing, YPP works with all major third-party billing companies and uses its own merchant accounts to ensure smooth throughput for joins and rebills, while aiming to get as much juice from the squeeze as possible via bundles, cross sales, upsells, current and ex-member marketing, while striving to maximize member value at every turn. YourPaysitePartner also has a licensing and distribution department that focuses on building partner brands and income through DVD, broadcast, VOD and other content-licensing opportunities.
Who are YPP’s most successful clients? Kenny B first of all underscores that he considers them partners, not clients.
“Mike Adriano and Ricky Johnson are the first partners that come to mind,” he explains. “They are true pornographers and masters of their craft. Working with perfectionists makes everything and everyone involved better. We work with many producers who share those values, like Paulita Pappel from Hardwerk, and Seth Gamble’s new site LucidFlix. These are partners that don’t compromise when it comes to outstanding production value.”
Kenny B sees the common denominator for success to be creative passion, drive and a solid work ethic. One new feature YPP has released that has proven to be a hit in helping those with the above attributes thrive is offering bundles on the checkout page.
“This has given a lot of our smaller sites more exposure and more income,” he says. “When a member joins a site, they are offered a free month on another site of their choice to try out. Many members rebill and stick around on sites they wouldn’t have initially thought to join. It’s a win for everyone involved.”
He also emphasizes the value of the in-depth stats and reporting that YPP offers, coupled with what he describes as user-friendly admin for partners, all of which Kenny B says has been well-received.
In discussing his approach to marketing for both YPP and its partners, Kenny B says it’s all about trying to get in front of a target audience.
“When it comes to industry B2B shows, we try to brand YPP while promoting our partners and giving them exposure among their peers,” he says. “We do our best to attend as many relevant industry shows as we can, as doing business face to face and building relationships is key to any business.
“Post-COVID, we’ve gotten booths at the consumer shows like X3 and Exxxotica NJ for our partners to showcase their sites and models,” Kenny B adds. “We’ve found them to be great for branding and team building, and the models make fantastic money.”
When it comes to marketing the paysites, while affiliate marketing still generates sales, interaction through social media has become much more prevalent in brand building, Kenny B notes, pointing to YPP’s partnership with iDealgasm as critical in increasing exposure and traffic for YPP’s partners.
“We are constantly hustling for traffic for our site partners,” he says. “We’ve come a long way from toilet seats and pig noses, for those that have been around long enough to remember.”
Kenny B also continuously invests in his team and YPP’s partners, tailoring services uniquely suited to each and shying away from templates.
“Our partners are unique and their sites should reflect that,” he says. “We have a vested interest in the success of our partners. While paysite income is our main focus, we work with our partners to monetize their content through many other avenues, both online and offline. Come to just about any industry show or event and either Josh, Alex or I will be there. We’re easy to find, easy to do business with and love what we do!”
Scaling up is always a challenge as the YPP roster expands, so to ensure stellar service, Kenny B reinforces the value of investing in people.
“As the family of YPP sites grows, so does our team,” he says. “Along with our offices in Montreal and Manila, we have many talented team members from around the globe. We learn as we grow, living in a time where automation and AI is helping streamline processes for many companies. I feel coupling technology with old fashioned person-to-person contact is extremely important to ensure top-notch service and continued growth.”
With 25 years in the rearview mirror, YPP is taking time to appreciate the road thus far, even while charting its future.
“It took 25 years to lay the groundwork,” Kenny B says. “There have been so many good memories, so many things to be thankful for over the last 25 years. I’m incredibly proud of my team and so thankful to our partners for their trust and friendship. We’ll continue to build and create phenomenal things together. There are quite a few fun things coming.
“On the paysite side of things, Sextapes.com is a new project in the works with Ricky Johnson,” he teases. “I’m also very excited about a new solution we have for smaller content creators to monetize their content, which will hopefully be announced toward the end of the year.”
As for the biggest differentiator in his success story, Kenny B again circles back to the value of having a strong team.
“I’m surrounded by some of the nicest, smartest, most trustworthy people,” he says. “As long as we’re all doing it together, no matter what comes next I’m sure it’ll be amazing!”
