Q&A: Solar Kate Enthroned as XBIZ Europas Cam Queen

Q&A: Solar Kate Enthroned as XBIZ Europas Cam Queen

Solar Kate beams brightly with glamorously-lit photos, intimate videos and a vibrant online presence that has hardwired fans to follow her every move. When she streams live, she brings that sunny energy to life with high-tech audio and visuals, not to mention a hefty dose of gamified interactivity.

But before she became a camming sensation, Kate was a professional equestrian sportswoman with big ambitions. “When I realized I didn’t want to compete in the field anymore,” she shared, “I thought about what I could do next.”

I just want to make the day of any viewer a bit better with my content. For me, adult entertainment is about the energy exchange.

Since Kate had so often heard people say, “Find a career you love and you’ll never work a day in your life,” she began musing. “It just so happens my favorite hobbies are sex and communicating with new people, so I opened my laptop, watched a few models and decided that I wanted to be a part of it all.”

And part of it all she is now, with more than 250 thousand followers on social media and over 500 thousand on Chaturbate, as she hawks her video wares across the internet via ManyVids, OnlyFans, tube sites and more.

She was also crowned Cam Model of the Year at the 2021 XBIZ Europa Awards in grand fashion, after her fans showed up in droves to vote for their favorite star.

Adding another feather to her cap as XBIZ Cam Star of the Month, Kate pulls back the curtain on her career for this exclusive interview.

XBIZ: Discuss the biggest ways you have evolved over time, personally and professionally, since you began camming.

KATE: First of all, I started camming with just a simple webcam that had an awful built-in microphone. During my first stream, I was like, “Wow, it’s the 21st century, why is my streaming quality so low? Does anyone watch this low of a resolution with such poor sound?” And I wanted to give the best I can. I wanted to talk to everyone as if I was sitting in front of them. I wanted to show my butt like it’s really near their face.

So the biggest way for me to achieve what I wanted was first going from a basic webcam to 4K streaming with pure sound and movie-quality visuals. Secondly, even though I get so turned on with my work, I can’t be online 24/7 for all my fans. And because guys were asking for more, the next logical step was making amateur videos so they could see me offline and get those same positive emotions, from high-quality content that isn’t staged like traditional porn.

XBIZ: Which platforms can fans find you on and how do you split your time across multiple revenue streams?

KATE: I stream only on Chaturbate, and as far as selling content, I don’t put all my eggs in one basket. You can see my platforms on my website SolarKProd.com. I do have to carefully balance so much, like communicating with fans, streaming, creating content, posting on social media, training in the gym and some very secret girl things that let me stay happy and positively energized.

XBIZ: How would you describe your brand, as far as your style, personality and special talents?

KATE: My “Solar Kate” brand is about sharing everything I possibly can, trying to shine for all the guys who come to my streams and watch my videos. I just want to make the day of any viewer a bit better with my content. For me, adult entertainment is about the energy exchange. And my brand of content is open to everyone with any kind of legal fetishes. I’m just doing what I love.

XBIZ: What is your method for growing a fan base on social media sites such as Twitter and Instagram?

KATE: I think it’s very important to be consistent with your associated brand and your own style. Also, nothing comes immediately with just a snap of your fingers, so I stick to a schedule with posts. My goal is to continue gaining followers by posting over and over, day by day. I think it’s also valuable to buy advertising, make friends with people in the industry and do cross-promotions like post-for-post or shoutout-for-shoutout.

XBIZ: Discuss your clips and photos. What kind of content is most popular among your fans?

KATE: What can I say? Some clips are popular on one platform, while others are better on a different platform. Sometimes I make a video and think it’s perfect, but my viewers are neutral to it, while a short, easily-done video can get millions of views. In general, I stopped doing professional shoots and just focus on amateur photos — everybody loves real things. One more fun fact: when I first started, I thought all guys wanted hardcore. But my statistics show that the fans love my solo videos, where I talk to them as I am, more than the rest.

XBIZ: Which camming site is your favorite and why?

KATE: Chaturbate is my one and only true love. I’ve tried several cam sites and decided to be exclusively a Chaturbate cam model. Let me tell you why: it’s the only platform friendly to high-quality video and sound. They also have a very user-friendly interface, where support is super fast and always helpful. Also, Chaturbate has many apps and bots that make streaming easy and fun, where my viewers feel more involved in the stream with gamification tricks.

XBIZ: How do you stay healthy, mentally and physically?

KATE: For mental health, it’s very important to shield yourself from negativity. For example, I don’t read comments about me on porn tubes. Negative comments don’t tell you who you are; they show the current feelings of the author and may not apply to your content at all. Also, no joke, whenever I hug my French bulldog everything is fine. As for physical health, since I’m an athlete, this is a complex subject. In general, though, I follow the recommendations of professionals as far as fitness and I also love to motivate fans to work out more. It makes me smile when they come to my streams and say, “Kate, I started going to the gym because of you.”

XBIZ: What was it like winning Cam Model of the Year at the 2021 XBIZ Europa Awards?

KATE: Actually, for a moment, I felt that childhood wonder of winning my first-ever competition. It was breathtaking. I was so, so very grateful for the honor and hope it’s not my last nomination or winning moment. Also, all my fans had been so active during the voting and once we won the award, we celebrated online like crazy with a special stream.

XBIZ: What are your main goals for the coming year?

KATE: One more XBIZ nomination and award? I would also love to reach 500 thousand followers on Pornhub, which would lead to more content and... more everything. Also, I’m exploring new platforms and have some ambitions for them too. And of course, a big goal for me is competing in fitness/bikini contests; I’d love to know what it feels like to be on a big stage, winning.
