Tapping Into Tubes: Strategies for Unlocking Your Content's Pull Potential

Tapping Into Tubes: Strategies for Unlocking Your Content's Pull Potential

When I started camming in 2016, I was selling videos on my cam platform and on various video marketplaces. I spent about six months really struggling to make sales, only earning $100 a month from video revenue. And although I knew about Pornhub as a platform, I hadn’t realized they offered the option for ad revenue on free-to-view videos. Now, four years later, Pornhub is an irreplaceable and powerful platform for my career.

I upload full-length videos completely free to help reach new fans and keep my name in the trending lists. Thirteen of my free videos have over a million views each on my Pornhub channel. Eleven of those videos are just me, alone with my vibrator, and they were all recorded on my old cell phone. You do not need expensive equipment to be successful!

When writing titles, I focus on using common search words and phrases that you can find on the Pornhub trending tags, that also describe my content succinctly.

Create what you can with what you have first, and then once that starts to get views, consider upgrading your equipment. My most-viewed video with 6.3 million views was recorded on my iPhone while live streaming and my fans love the raw, amateur experience that it provides. Adding expensive equipment will not get more views on content people are not already interested in. The ability to get views even with the cheap equipment makes Pornhub a great way to test your appeal and try out new approaches with free videos.

I also recommend tapping into Pornhub’s ad revenue sharing on free videos you upload, which if you include the right keywords and tags, can get you a lot of views fast. While some models worry about sharing free content, it is good marketing. As a lifelong exhibitionist, I get excited when more people see my work, so uploading for free did not bother me at all. I found it so thrilling to see the views and comments coming in once I uploaded. I even put my entire video library up on Pornhub at one point for everyone to watch for free, which was about 30 videos at the time.

Suddenly, videos that I could not sell for $5 were getting hundreds of thousands of views. I vividly remember sitting in my bed that night and watching notifications just pour in on my phone. I was reading every comment, immediately hooked. My content was finally getting seen and appreciated! I started creating more videos to upload and was getting a million views on some. As a newer model with a small following, this was huge for me, and my fanbase started to grow exponentially.

When I first started adding videos, I took a lot of time researching what keywords, phrases and tags were popular on Pornhub. Now this is almost second nature, but by browsing trending tags and noting tags that apply to your videos, you can create a good plan. You can also browse videos similar to what you are creating with tons of views from models that are like you to see what titles might work for your content.

When writing titles, I focus on using common search words and phrases that you can find on the Pornhub trending tags, that also describe my content succinctly. Users will probably not search, “Mary Moody has a nice time with herself in a comfortable bed.” Users are much more likely to search something like “Mary Moody butt.” I try to think about this when creating a video title, and even read a lot about search engine optimization (SEO) keywords to understand how I should write titles for a search algorithm.

Pornhub allows you to add 16 tags to each video, so it is important to research which tags are trending. Choose tags that are relevant to your content and common, but not overused. If you choose a tag like “gangbang” when your video is solo masturbation, your video will not get views and you might even get thumbs down on it. Some tags are very overused; I think every video on Pornhub has the tag “teen.” If you use that tag, your video could get buried in the competition. On the other hand, if only one user ever searches for your tag, then it is not likely you will get a lot of views. It is best to pick more relevant tags that are nonetheless not too unpopular; I constantly try new tags to balance between relevant and popularity.

With good titles and tags, your free videos will give you ad revenue based on viewer count and grow your following. To put followers to work, consider mixing paid content among your free videos, selling them on Modelhub. When Pornhub first created this adult marketplace offshoot, I jumped on the opportunity. I filled my profile with paid content so fans that loved my free videos could immediately pay for more content. It allowed me to utilize the fan base I built on Pornhub by immediately funneling users to a paid option. I earn more than any other video marketplace there and by having it integrated into my Pornhub profile, it helps convert casual viewers into paying customers easily.

Pornhub is always adding new features and I just recently dived into the Fan Club option. I am enjoying creating exclusive content for my fans; I already have my first few subscribers who I cannot wait to spoil! I get excited about finding more ways to capture all the traffic, so I was absolutely thrilled about the new Viewers’ Choice contest, with the opening contest in October for Halloween. I entered a Kim Possible cosplay video where I ride a dildo for the first time, and I am so proud of it! I had no dildo-riding content, and I really enjoyed this cosplay, so this was a big deal for me. The new monthly contests are a great way to encourage your fans to spend even more on you. Competition can be really exciting and even if you don’t win the grand prizes, you are keeping your percentage of any votes you receive.

Pornhub became a foundation for my career and I am always releasing new free and paid content that I cannot wait for people to see. It’s my favorite place to find new fans; with a little research, I was able to create a huge following there and I hope that others can too!
