Upgrade Your Cam Life to Rock the New Year

Upgrade Your Cam Life to Rock the New Year

As you slowly start to make your way out of your “holi-daze,” the new year (and the new decade) are a great time to think about ways to upgrade your life. I’m not talking about the typical “new year, new me” stuff either since I’m sure we’re all getting plenty of that energy from social media already. What I mean is upgrading everything around you to make sure you are ready to kill the game even further. And so, please “let me upgrade you” with a few tips to help you slay the new year!

Upgrade Your Self-Care Routine

One of our top models uses this time to add new outfits to her cosplay repertoire which is tons of fun for her, but also a great way to bring in new fans and keep the old ones titillated and always thirsty for more.

You take care of others on cam every day, so don’t forget to take care of yourself too! Set aside some time to focus on things that are good for your physical and mental well-being, and I don’t mean the typical stuff like getting a massage or a manicure, either. I’m talking about things that can really boost your mood like going on vacation or even a relaxing spa weekend alone. This is easier said than done if those things are not within your budget, but there are still ways to make it happen if you don’t have a lot of extra income. One of our models, for example, adds gift cards to spas and other getaway spots to her wish list. That way, her adoring fans can pamper her and she can’t be tempted to spend those gifts on other people like she might otherwise do with something like cash or an Amazon gift card. Having these funds set aside for this specific purpose has afforded her the opportunity to have several spa weekends for herself that she may not have had otherwise, and she was so relaxed afterward that it even came across on camera during her shows. And if you’re looking for the ultimate self-care experience, try cutting all the negativity out of your life and see just how amazing that can feel! Don’t be afraid to cut off toxic relationships, friendships or even work partnerships that no longer serve you or your goals. If it’s not working for you, it’s working against you, so resolve to get those things out of your life so they can no longer disturb your peace.

Upgrade Your Social Media Savvy

Speaking of cutting the negativity out of your life, now is also a great time to clean up your social media accounts and delete anyone who is not helping your mental health. A lot of cam models check their social media accounts first thing in the morning, and if that includes reading rude messages from haters or even worse, frenemies, that can really take a toll on your mental health and affect how you approach the rest of your day. The “unfollow” and “block” buttons are there for a reason, so don’t be afraid to use them unapologetically!

Upgrade Your Camming Equipment

This is a great time to take a look at your equipment and see what needs to be upgraded, especially since it’s right after Christmas and you may have some gift cards to spend. If you don’t have an HD camera yet, put those Amazon gift cards to good use and invest in something that can help improve your shows and grow your viewership. While you’re at it, get yourself a few professional ring lights if you haven’t already, and if your fans were particularly generous, then you can even look into getting a new laptop to make your life even easier. It can be tempting to spend all those holiday gift cards on other things, but take advantage of this opportunity to improve your shows and you will reap the rewards for the rest of the year.

Upgrade Your Wardrobe

Many after-holiday sales will be going well into January, so maximize all the gift cards your fans bought you over the holidays and “treat yo self” to some new things that make you feel amazing during your shows. One of our top models uses this time to add new outfits to her cosplay repertoire which is tons of fun for her, but also a great way to bring in new fans and keep the old ones titillated and always thirsty for more.

Wishing you all a happy, healthy and prosperous new year! If you have any questions, or have an idea for something you would like me to cover in a future column, please email me at CamsJBackman@gmail.com.
