One of the driving forces propelling the popularity of Bang.com’s trendsetting teen-themed content is performer/director Sean Lawless, the creative brains behind the studio’s popular “Roadside” and “YNGR” video series.
Known for producing top-performing scenes, Lawless takes a “best of both worlds” approach to combining the evergreen teen and outdoor niches.

XBIZ wanted to take a closer look at the work and wisdom of Sean Lawless to see what motivates his creativity and the vision he brings to Bang! — he had much to reveal in this director’s chair interview.
XBIZ: How would you characterize the content you create?
Lawless: The content we create has the main goal of showing a beautiful teen in a unique public setting.
At the start of the day, we explain to the female talent that our goal is to have fun and be safe. It fosters an environment where the talent feels safe to be natural and have a good time, which makes for better content.
Because we focus on reality-based scenarios, it lends itself to a performance that’s as real as you can get!
XBIZ: Which of your scenes do you consider your best, and why?
Lawless: Chloe Temple and Taylor Blake have to be my picks for the best scenes we have shot.
Chloe was an improvised scene that worked out nicely. It was pouring rain which hindered our initial plan, but she was a trooper, and literally danced naked in the rain, among other things!
Taylor Blake took a lot of planning and perfect timing to execute. The result was being able to get out and shoot at the gun range, using firearms while actually having sex and getting blown.
Some girls just get turned on by the firepower!
XBIZ: What led you to choose the genres you work with and how would you define them?
Lawless: YNGR revolves around being a teen-based, public sex site. This is very similar to another site I direct called Roadsidexxx.com. Both highlight the potential of an outdoor reality-based sex scene.
For YNGR, we get real teens, sex and public situations that are hard to find nowadays — most “public” sex is just a tease until they get to a room. Not with YNGR; there’s actual sex in public.
Roadside is a fun take on a common scenario we see every day: What happens when you can’t afford a car repair? Simple and to the point, which in itself is something that audiences can appreciate.
XBIZ: How did you develop your directing style and what aesthetic do you seek to deliver?
Lawless: I developed my style of shooting over the course of six years in the industry. I watched and learned how to execute a scene, and then I apply that to create a scene I’d want to watch.
I want it to feel like you’re there just watching people enjoy sex; it doesn’t need to be gimmicky with odd positions and props. If you have two people who enjoy each other, the rest will happen naturally.
XBIZ: How important is user data and sales statistics in selecting the scenes you produce?
Lawless: When it comes to data and stats, we try to be innovative and deliver the best product possible.
It’s essential in today’s climate of changing tastes that we track any stats we can get so that we can make any changes or additions to satisfy our fans.
Being able to get feedback is crucial in this business — the amount of time and effort that goes into planning a production can be costly — so we want to make sure that we’re going to get those views and keep eyes on us. Because of that, we’re able to keep our fans satisfied with a fresh variety of content to choose from on a regular basis.
XBIZ: How important is BTS content to your productions?
Lawless: BTS is important to me in order to shed a positive light on the industry and to give information about the business. There’s a lot of misinformation out there about seedy directors and sets that aren’t safe for the talent. A lot of that is out-dated or based on old mainstream depictions.
Having BTS content that shows our talent is happy to be there, feels safe on set and having a good time goes a long way — not only for the business as a whole but for the consumer education aspect.
Particularly as more women seek out content to enjoy, it gives them the confidence of knowing that everything on this set was positive and the performances they’re seeing can be enjoyed with a clear conscience.
XBIZ: How important a role does new technology play in your productions and are there any that give you a distinct competitive advantage, i.e., are you chasing ever-higher “K” resolutions or eyeing VR?
Lawless: I operate a YouTube channel (Youtube.com/SeanLawless) that does just that. While we do use 4K cameras, staying on the cutting edge of the tech side of production is not our focus, because the smaller the camera, the more we are able to get away with in public situations.
While technological advances are impressive, we have to think discretion for a lot of our scenes. I think the viewers for our particular channels understand that and would rather have us get away with the public sex than a staged production with newer technologies.
XBIZ: What are your favorite distribution and promotional strategies?
Lawless: The best form of distribution for the scenes that I enjoy making so much is through Bang.com.
Bang! has been great at promoting the website and encouraging our fans to see us as more than just another collection of scenes.
They work with NMG Management to get our scenes out onto DVD, which gives us another market of customers looking at our content since not everyone has easy access to the internet.
XBIZ: What else do our readers need to know about your work?
Lawless: In the end, I just want to create videos that the viewer finds to be entertaining as well as sexually stimulating. Happy fapping, folks!
