We all know that the key to success of being a cam model is to have plenty of people in the room when you go online. In most cases, you can rely on your cam site to provide you with good quality traffic, but it’s all up to you to convert that traffic once they are in the room.
It’s also up to you to turn cricket-chirping moments of 500 people in your room neither talking nor tipping, into engaging conversations filled with tips and privates.
Based on your performance and user engagement, you will rank better on a cam site’s algorithms and get pushed higher up on the front page.

But, what other things can you do to keep a steady flow of people coming to watch your show? Here are my top five hacks to get more traffic in your cam room!
1. Know Your Cam Site
The most important thing is to know the cam site you are working on. If you don’t know how the site works, ask support or read up on their information pages.
If you are new to the site, you should know that in most cases you get a "new model boost" when you sign up. This is usually a one-week boost (although on a site like Stripchat, it’s two weeks). You should always take advantage of it.
Go online every day for those first 14 days or so and be sure to let the members know that they should add you to their favorites and turn on notifications. This way, they will get notified when you go online next time.
Also, be sure to fill out all the fields in your profile. Write a good description and add a tip menu so that members know what to expect. Believe it or not, they actually read that stuff.
Time on site is also important. If you go online only one hour per day, don’t expect to rank higher than models that are online for 10 hours per day and are converting users into paying members. So put some effort into it. If you want to succeed, treat it as a full-time job.
2. Harness Social Media
Social media traffic is priceless. This is where the content that you post can bring traffic into your room for the cost of some hard work. Twitter is the best platform for this, since it’s adult-friendly and they will not ban you for your sexy content.
Instagram is a must, but you should use this more for branding yourself. Don’t go with nudes and don’t link directly to your cam site from Instagram, as it will increase your chances of getting your account banned. Instead, focus on sending your Instagram traffic to your Twitter page.
If you’re up for it, I would highly recommend you start a YouTube channel, since it's the second biggest search engine in the world. So, when people Google your cam name, your YouTube videos show up on the results page. All content needs to be safe-for-work and you can have links back to your Twitter channel in your channel description.
3. Upload Content to a Clips Site
Another good way to get your name out there is to upload content to clip sites. There are a lot of alternatives out there and the best tip is to not put all your eggs in one basket. Set up a profile with the same name you use on the cam platform, and link it back to your cam room. This will drive more traffic to your room whenever you’re online.
4. Upload Content to Tube Sites
Adult tube sites like xHamster are a great place to upload clips that you don't plan on selling. On many tube sites, they also offer a model program where you can make your own profile and earn money each time your clips are viewed.
It’s important to put your cam name in every clip title you upload and add a link on your model profile to your cam page. In some cases, you can also add a link in the description of the clips you upload. All of this will direct fresh traffic to your room.
5. Buy Traffic
The last option and fastest way to get a lot of traffic into your cam room is to buy it. There are different kinds of networks you can buy traffic from, like TrafficStars and DivaTraffic. You need to sign up for an account and add some money to your account. Then you need to set up a campaign with targeted traffic to your cam room URL.
You don’t need to spend a lot of money with ad networks to get traffic into your room. Five to 10 dollars a session should be enough for a start. Don’t expect big conversions though, since you’re competing with the major cam sites in buying traffic. But it will for sure fill your room and help you get more organic traffic.
