Staying Focused on Your Clip-Making Goals

Staying Focused on Your Clip-Making Goals

As I type this, it’s day 34 of me being a self-proclaimed porn performer and clip artist, and I’m writing this article to give advice to other sex workers. Am I dreaming? Someone, pinch me! I can hear the comments already … “Who does this b*tch think she is?” Well, before you write me off as too confident, arrogant or cocky, let me tell you about my first 34 days and the success I have attained.

After doing some research into the adult industry (besides the usual type of porn “research”), I decided to join ManyVids to launch my career. I signed up and started on May 28, 2019. Knowing I was starting near the end of the month, I wanted to use those days to learn everything I could about the site.

My first four days didn’t immediately get me the wealth or stardom I ultimately seek, but they did provide me with the knowledge I require to begin working towards that fortune and fame. Now, before I lose your attention, what I accomplished the next 30 days was ... becoming the No. 1 top earner for June on the site in my first full month!

Now, the Keys to Setting Goals Are:

Be Specific

I made my goal specific; I didn’t say to myself ... “do good” or “make lots of money,” I said, “I am going to reach No. 1!” Having non-specific goals makes it impossible to know if you have achieved what you set out to do and if you’re on the right track or not.

Make Your Goal Measurable

When you can see your real-time ranking for the day and month on a site, you can measure your goal very easily. There are also metrics available on various platforms that you can access via your account.

Make Your Goal Realistic

Now, some may say reaching No. 1 in the first month isn’t very practical, but this isn’t a running total. Each model starts at $0 for the month, and I knew if I stayed focused, I could possibly reach my goal.

Set a Timeframe

You need a timeframe for goals! If I said No. 1 “eventually,” that’s not a goal ... that’s a wish! I said No. 1 “next month,” and I meant it. With this goal in mind, I needed a plan to attain it.

And while a lot of people may enter the industry thinking they just have to get naked, put nudes online, then sit back and count the money, I always knew fan acquisition would be my most significant challenge. The second issue was content, as I was new and lacking in vids. So, I started with my biggest problems:

Fan Acquisition

I had only 20 Twitter followers and less than 50 followers on ManyVids, it felt like I was in a dark corner on the platform. Members were not going to find me; I had to find them.

So, I decided to reach out to members for 8 to 10 hours a day. Not as a car salesman wheeling and dealing, but just to introduce myself and maybe shine a little light on me. There are lots of naked women on the internet, so I had to show them the most unique thing I have — my personality.

Lack of Content to Sell

This was an obstacle initially, but easy to overcome. I made a goal of creating and uploading two vids a day and got to work, even more so on days when I felt extra frisky.

Now, I had objectives that were specific, measurable and realistic, and a timeframe in which to accomplish them all. I also had my gameplan on how I was going to do this, so it was time to get to work.

My first day went terribly slow. I had been reaching out with no luck to speak of but I kept faith in my plan and was able to find success soon enough. It wasn’t long before my plan started providing financial success. With money coming in, it was easy to stay motivated and I was finishing in the top five each of my first four days.

Then, Day 5 came and the money, attention and everything stopped. For two days, the majority of my messages were going to my newly acquired fans, but I had neglected to continue reaching out to fresh users. I didn’t look for excuses. I focused on what was working and got back to messaging. On Day 6, I found out I was right and had one of my best days yet.

I finished the month with over 300 new Twitter followers and over 800 on ManyVids, and seven days straight as the top earner for the day and 16 days in the top five — and, of course, the No. 1 top earner for the month. When I accomplished my goal, I knew I earned it because of hard work and focus.

Now, I make sure to constantly review my goals and take note of everything I am doing to accomplish them.

I hope sharing my insights and experience in the industry so far can provide some help in fulfilling your own ambitions. Wishing you all success in this beautiful life we get to live!
