Q&A: Thony Grey Basks in Best Male Cam Model Win

Q&A: Thony Grey Basks in Best Male Cam Model Win

Thony Grey is as dapper, cultured and well-mannered as they come, and come they do, by the thousands, when he is on cam.

That is why this debonair beau from the South of France has cultivated a very engaged fan base on CAM4, Twitter, OnlyFans and beyond.

Never give up! Never! Believe in what you do. To do that, you have to like what you do.

In fact, that enthusiastic loyalty catapulted him to the heights of cam stardom when he won the 2019 XBIZ Best Male Cam Model trophy at XBIZ Miami.

Always dressed (or undressed!) for success, Grey strives to be the very best, working as hard as possible to capitalize on his natural allure.

To showcase his ambitious spirit, XBIZ sat down with the dashing entrepreneur for this exclusive Cam Star of the Month interview.

XBIZ: What inspired you to pursue camming?

Grey: When I was a young, I once saw a famous French cam girl on a TV show. She explained what her job was, what she did and that she earned a lot of money.

I thought, “Wow, that's crazy!” I decided then, I would be a cam model, and started camming at the age of 18. I love what I do.

XBIZ: Describe your personal brand, as far as what style, vibe and personality traits you are best known for?

Grey: I think my personal brand is just my personality. I have a really strong personality. I'm an extremist on pretty much everything, it's all white or black.

With that in mind, I'm a confident, friendly boy, always sweet to everyone. I love to give my fans a lot of gifts and I really try hard to do my best on everything.

XBIZ: How do you reward your most loyal fans?

Grey: I love my fans. Again, I try to do my best for them. My most loyal fans are always with me, at different times of my personal life, too. Just as I like them and want to know about them on a personal level, they like to know about me.

I reward them with things like videos, flashes, personal moments, whatever I think might make them happy. It actually makes us both happy.

XBIZ: What is your preferred camming platform?

Grey: That's complicated, as I'm on different platforms, and those platforms are different as well. I started broadcasting on CAM4 in 2017, where one is allowed to broadcast in public places, which I do like to do, where on other cam sites, that is forbidden.

Some other sites allow you to code your own page in HTML, where you can change things up, and offer different games you can play with viewers. So, I like both kinds of platforms, for different reasons.

XBIZ: Discuss your approach to social media marketing.

Grey: Social media is extremely important. It is a great way to attract visitors who will stay as followers. I believe that it is more than 50 percent of the job. I try to post content that I think will bring people back to me.

As always, I try to do my best and always make it great! And I do try to add a personal level to that content. I especially like Twitter, as I can post more sexual content. I do like that.

XBIZ: What kind of offline activities do you pursue, to supplement camming?

Grey: I'm very happy with what I do. I live a good life and truthfully, this job keeps me busy. I only do camming, working afternoons and evenings about three to four hours at a time, seven days a week. It's sometimes a complicated schedule. I live a cam boy life, and like it. I feel I'm living my best life.

XBIZ: Talk about your work/life balance, and how you pace yourself to remain healthy overall.

Grey: For me, my professional and personal lives are intertwined. I think I'm working at least 99 percent of the time.

Whether I'm working on content, social networking, a live show or just have a fan virtually with me while making dinner or hanging out, it all becomes joined, but I like it.

I do, however, make time to be with my offline group of friends — we love to get together and get kind of crazy.

Even though I work a lot, it doesn't always seem like work. Whether I’m creating content, doing social networking or performing a live show, it all feels joined.

That being said, to stay grounded and healthy, I do make sure I spend time with friends. Hanging out with them, playing sports and getting wild definitely keeps me in shape, I'll leave it at that! Haha.

XBIZ: Any business advice for up-and-coming male cam models?

Grey: For advice, I can tell someone what I told myself. Never give up! Never! There may be days when very little money comes in.

There may be days where a lot of money comes in. Thousands of dollars may come in one day but not the next.

Also, be confident. Believe in what you do. To do that, you have to like what you do.

I have one fan that always tells me to enjoy myself. He says, "When you enjoy ‘you,’ I enjoy you!" In other words, always do your best.

XBIZ: What was it like attending XBIZ Miami this year and winning Best Male Cam Model at the XBIZ Cam Awards?

Grey: I first want to thank the entire XBIZ community and associates, the friends I made and all the hosts in Miami for an amazing time.

It was a dream come true for me. I never expected to win over the other very famous and also deserving male cam models, all 15 of them. I remember trembling during the entire ceremony, because it was surreal to me.

The Best Male Cam Model award was given at the end of the ceremony. That was a lot of trembling, haha. When my name came across the screen, I thought I was dreaming.

When my name was called, I thought it was someone else's name. My friends at my table told me that I won and to head up on stage! Yes, I had to be told I was the winner!

I was actually congratulating Thony Grey, not realizing it was me! But, I made it to the stage and accepted my award.

It is hard to find words to say how life-changing that amazing experience was! I am extremely honored, appreciative and happy to have won! I'm still in a state of disbelief, but still very honored!

XBIZ: Tell us about your big goals for this year and beyond.

Grey: I think I would eventually like to move to another country. Although I do enjoy the South of France, I want to expand my horizons, so to speak.

I can imagine myself living in the United States, becoming a United States citizen, owning a Lamborghini, along with a big house! And, I would marry a beautiful woman, too!

This would complete my "American Dream." Sounds good, doesn't it? As I said before, I always do my best!
