Making It Rain on Cam

Making It Rain on Cam

So, you’re ready to start camming! You sign up, you get approved and you’re prepared to start making money. You get all dolled up, turn on your show and suddenly… an hour goes by and you make little-to-no money. You’re just about to give up — but wait, there’s more!

You see, camming can be difficult. Trust me, I know. I’ve been camming since 2014, and have since been nominated “Top Ebony Cam Model 2015” from the Adult Webcam Awards and most recently for “Industry Crossover Star” from the 2019 XBIZ Cam Awards.

Never try to be the girl you think everyone will love. People will love you… the real you!

The great thing about camming is the ability to do what you want, how you want. However, there could be things you’re doing, or not doing, that could be limiting your potential to grow a fan base and make money.

Here are some tips I’ve learned over the years that have given me so much help in the cam community, and hopefully this advice brings you lots of fans and dollars! So, here we go:

Stop looking at yourself!

The biggest mistake girls make is looking at themselves in the external cam viewer, instead of looking at the camera lens. Viewers want to feel like they’re genuinely interacting with you. When you look at yourself, what they see is you looking to the side, instead of looking at them.

Regularity is key!

I know it’s hard, but try to keep a schedule and stick to it. The more you’re consistent, the better the chances of you gaining a real fan base. Think about it. If “Jonny916” spends a half hour with you on Monday at 2 p.m., he’s going to want to see you again, and he’s most likely available on Mondays at 2 p.m. If your schedule is too hard to keep up with, you will lose those loyal fans that will keep coming back each day/week to see you.

Spice it up!

There are so many things people like to see. Don’t get caught up doing the same thing every time you’re online. When you mix it up, not only do you open the door for more fans, but you also keep things exciting, which in the end leads to more fans.

Make it personal!

As hard as this may seem, the truth is, it’s actually easy and totally beneficial. Remembering that “Jonny916” is actually “John, 25 from Sacramento, who works as an accountant and loves thigh-highs and feet worship” will get him to come back. He feels like you know him. You become his favorite girl to chat and play with.

Be yourself!

This is the most important. Never try to be the girl you think everyone will love. People will love you… the real you! Be the funny you, the silly you, the gothic you, the nerdy you… anything that you really are. That’s what sets you apart from other girls. There are millions online, every day and all day, so you will find those fans that love you and, before you know it, you have a whole club dedicated to watching you.

These five essential things have helped me over the years. I’ve been able to meet and chat with some of the coolest, most loyal people in the world, because camming allows you to do what you feel is sexy. And it opened my eyes to things I never thought I liked! It also gives you so much confidence, because it’s great knowing people love you just the way you are.

The greatest part about camming is that it’s available in most parts of the world, 24/7, so make your own schedule and create your own little world! Do what you want, when you want and be your own boss.

I took a break for a few years, came back and had some of the same fans from before still there and excited to see my return. So while I know it can all feel very new and scary, trust me — if you work hard, stay consistent and be yourself, you will have so much success. Welcome and happy camming!
