Virtual reality has been in our industry for a while, with many adult companies producing a lot of VR content on a daily basis to fulfill the needs of more tech-savvy users.
In the cam industry, we have heard talks about live streaming VR for a few years. Some cam sites have tried and given up on the technology, while others don’t believe this will be the next big thing.
But there are still several cam sites that now are taking the driver’s seat to push the live VR experience to the consumers. The technology is certainly there and the quality of the top VR cameras can already stream in amazing 4K with 60fps.
Now, with a new wide-angle lens and an increasingly sophisticated group of consumers, how are models adopting VR and adapting to this new world?
We talked to a couple top-notch Stripchat models that are really getting the hang of the latest and greatest VR cameras, to discover how they are changing their performances and looks to better please their fans with a compelling VR experience.
How has your experience as a VR model been so far?
KattyloveX: The experience with VR has been pretty good. It’s interesting to try this new technology, because it is making everything more real for the users.
Alexa Vice: It is a really interesting experience, as I have to always pay attention to not be too far away from the camera and also to try to make slower moves, which definitely provides more eroticism. People get more and more curious about it and I have also seen an increase in traffic every time I am in the VR room.
Have you received any feedback from members using VR in your room?
Jennifer_Star: Yes, I now have new members that are using this type of technology, and also my old members are really interested in buying the headset now.
RileySmithx: Yes, I have members who bought the glasses when they found out that I was going to be doing VR. It was a great experience for them and I got very good feedback, because they saw me as if I was next to them. I think we had a better connection.
Alexa Vice: The feedback is one of awe and fascination, they like it very much. They said it feels a lot closer, almost like being there with me.
Do you feel there is a different type of member that comes to your room for the VR experience?
Jennifer_Star: Not necessarily. I think that all members are curious and they want to explore the most.
Alexa Vice: Curiosity is what drives the members. So I think they all have this one trait in common, being curious with what is happening. And of course, this is something any model can work with in her favor, thus increasing her sales.
How hard was it to get used to the new camera in your room?
KattyloveX: It is not hard at all! It’s almost the same. I just need to use the microphone more as it is difficult for them to type in VR, but in my case, I don’t see this as a problem.
Alexa Vice: Not hard at all. I am feeling rather comfortable there. I could even say I am more comfortable than I am in a normal room.
Did you need to implement any changes to your performance in front of the VR camera?
Jennifer_Star: I am now more aware of everything, and that was a bonus point for me. I think I have become better as a model, ever since I began working with VR. It’s a little different in the way we move in front of the camera, but I think the show is more intimate this way.
Alexa Vice: I am extra careful with my movements, trying to be fluid and slow, so I don’t make the members using VR too dizzy. This also made me realize that the slow movements of the body reflect a much more mysterious and erotic attitude.
Do you feel that VR is the future of camming?
RileySmithx: Maybe ... for the moment we need to work hard to convince the members to buy the VR glasses. This is just a question of time when more and more headsets will be available.
Alexa Vice: Every new technology that involves seeing a model in 3D or just gives the feeling of being in the same room as the model is the future for camming, so that includes VR for sure.
