I am Bratty Nikki, co-founder of iWantClips.com and iWantEmpire.com, and I have been selling my own content for over seven years now. Whether you are a performer, director or producer, you can earn passive income from the content you own. In this article, I will share many of the secrets I have learned along the way to help you make the most money possible from your content.
The most important strategy for monetizing your content is consistency. This is especially important when you first launch your store. Customers want to know they will frequently find new updates. Your consistency gives them a reason to return. If they return to your store twice in a month and find nothing new, they may not come back for a long time or ever. However, if they return and find a bunch of new videos to buy, you will get more sales and they will return frequently. One clip each day is ideal, but not everyone has the time to film that much; every other day, or three to four updates a week is fine as long as you stay consistent and let your customers know how often you plan on updating your store.
All of the top earners on iWantEmpire offer two types of content — the categories we are familiar with and can execute with ease and those that are new to us and require some extra effort. It is imperative we step outside of our comfort zone at times and try new ideas.
An easy way to boost your sales when you are new to filming clips is to flood the market. My good friend Princess Ashley did this when she was new and would release four clips in a day. Now she is a top earner with $1,000 days on the regular! This practice enabled her to build a fan base very quickly and helped her become a top earner in her first year. I highly recommend this strategy when you are new or if you’ve been away and your sales need a boost.
Another key strategy is social media promotion. iWantClips.com allows you to connect your Twitter and send an automatic tweet with each new clip release. It also offers automatic “sales tweets,” and can be programmed to send out a link and preview every time you sell a clip. I have personally seen my clips sales almost double with no extra effort since we launched the auto sales tweets and so have many other artists on iWantClips.com.
In addition to auto tweets, be sure to promote your new releases. You can do this by retweeting the original tweet, replying to the original tweet or quoting it with a comment designed to make people want to buy. I like to quote my original clip tweet and mention something I love about the clip. Some examples of how I do this include, “My new bodysuit hugs my curves so seductively in this clip!” Or “Ass worship is my favorite fetish and that’s why this clip is so good.”
Be sure to promote your content on your Instagram, Snapchat, personal blog and anywhere else you can think of. Include your newest updates and feature your older content occasionally as well!

It is imperative we step outside of our comfort zone at times and try new ideas. Branching out into new categories will net you new customers, especially when you find out you are great at that category! Be sure you research and fully understand a new category before filming so your new clips have the best chances for success. Promote how much you enjoyed exploring the new category on your social media using the relevant hashtags so customers have a better chance of finding your content.
Finally, it is crucial to keep improving your content. As you earn more money, upgrade your camera and lighting if it’s not as good as it could be. Redecorate your sets or create new sets in your home. Having a variety of film sets gives your library variety when someone is glancing at your store as a whole. Stay fit and take care of yourself, both physically and mentally. Spending time offline and detached from work is crucial to being an independent clip producer as that time away allows you to come back with a fresh and more creative mind.
