Love Thine Body: Big Beautiful Camming

Love Thine Body: Big Beautiful Camming

I can’t say I was the girl who grew up dreaming of being a cam girl someday. In fact, I never knew that camming existed until a little before I started. The only porn I had been exposed to was the anime porn that friends in college would put up on their TV screen to boggle at and critique. Up until my first broadcast, I had used a toy on myself maybe once or twice. Needless to say, my experience and knowledge of the adult industry was limited when my journey began.

In a way, I’m glad my awareness was minimal. My innocence made my camming adventures even more realistic to my fans, and I have always enjoyed sharing my new experiences with them. My natural shyness partnered with my lack of sexual exploration is probably the foundation upon which my cam career has been built. It always makes me laugh to think of all the sexual things I never dreamed of doing before camming, and all the things I’ve tried since then.

I love camming. I love that I can be open and honest and still be accepted. I’ve met a lot of amazing, talented people in this industry, and they have taught me so much.

I did my very first broadcast on MyFreeCams. I was terrified! I’ve always had low self-esteem issues, and I kept telling myself I didn’t belong in front of the camera. But something pushed me to do it anyways, and I haven’t looked back! My first show was in January 2014, but I don’t consider my career to have started until February 2015. That’s when I found my home on Chaturbate. I had cammed on and off on MFC throughout 2014, but my heart was never in it. I would cam for some extra money and that was it. I tried getting into porn instead, but was repeatedly turned down for being too big or too small.

When I decided to try Chaturbate I wanted a fresh start and I wanted to do things right. I wanted to grow as a cam model and not just let it be about making extra money. It eased my mind to see the diversity on the front page. It gave me hope that I had a chance at success. Not to mention the freedom to gain followers faster, which was a lot more difficult to do before. Overall, CB made it easier for me to grow as a model which is why I’ve stuck with them.

When I started over, I looked at camming in an entirely new light. I wasn’t just there to make money, but also to build friendships with my supporters, and grow as a person. This mindset not only helped me build my business, but has also given me some of the most genuine friendships I’ve ever had. It’s like the people on CB welcomed me with open arms. I had never felt more accepted and appreciated for being me and looking the way that I looked. And it wasn’t just my looks that kept people coming back, but my genuine desire to get to know the people that chatted with me every day, whether they tipped or not.

One thing I’ve learned is it’s so important to stay true to who you are, because it’s easy to lose yourself. And when you lose yourself, you risk losing everything you’ve built. Something I’ve struggled with is negatively comparing myself to others. I have to remind myself that everyone is different. They handle things differently, they do things differently, they are at a different place than I am in their camming careers. By the same token, you shouldn’t be afraid to grow and reach for higher things. If something isn’t working don’t hesitate to change things up in your own way. You shouldn’t base your success on the success — or lack thereof — of others, but rather what you believe to be success. I never thought I would call myself an award-winning cam model, but here I am!

I love camming. I love that I can be open and honest and still be accepted. I’ve met a lot of amazing, talented people in this industry and they have taught me so much. Now I am looking ahead at what else I can do to keep growing and pushing myself to be the best I can be.

It's Time to Rock the Vote and Make Your Voice Heard

When I worked to defeat California’s Proposition 60 in 2016, our opposition campaign was outspent nearly 10 to 1. Nevertheless, our community came together and garnered enough support and awareness to defeat that harmful, misguided piece of proposed legislation — by more than a million votes.

Account-to-Account Payments: The New Banking Disruptor?

So much of our industry relies upon Visa and Mastercard to support consumer payments — and with that reliance comes increased scrutiny by both brands. From a compliance perspective, the bar keeps getting raised until it feels like we end up spending half our time making sure we are compliant rather than growing our business.
