A Webmasters Guide to Sex.com

This article will explain how the ppc (pay per click) system works and how to get the best returns from your investment when using the Sex.com ppc search directory to feed targeted traffic to your site or sponsor...

My name is Dean Wilson, I'm the Director of BoxxNet Pty Ltd, an Australian web based design firm. BoxxNet launched in Jan 2000 and since has created many websites for local and international companies. Most of which are for the online adult pornography scene. I have been involved in the adult pornography scene for almost 2 years and have written many scripts to help adult webmasters in their quest to make lots of money. Enough about me, lets get on with it. ;-)

Sex.com Information
Sex.com is not just a portal for surfers, but a money making machine for adult webmasters if the correct buttons are pushed. They have a range of programs for adult webmasters to join to: e.g. Advertiser Referrer Program, Agency Program, Search Box, Private Label Search Engines, Hot Zones, Exit Popup, Banners, Select Keyword Listing, Distribution Feeds for Search Engines, International Partnerships, Strategic Partnerships, Co-brand of Backend Bidding Systems, License Meta Server Technology. Along with all these features Sex.com had 41 different language sites, so whatever type of traffic you need, sex.com has it. We're going to be looking at Select Keyword Listings.

How to Get Started
Quite a few adult webmasters don't take that first step, most are skeptical about spending money to make money. So, lets add this up. On the Internet, the general feeling is you need to spend money to make money, even small amounts can make you more then you invested, in some cases, lots more! Lets take a $25 US investment on Sex.com ppc search words.

- Find A Sponsor:
What you don't want is to pick a sponsor that doesn't convert. The best way to find a good sponsor is to ask other webmasters which sponsor works best for them. Post a message on some adult forums and see which ones work for others. (Recommended sponsors)

- Picking Good Words That Sell
Now you have found your sponsor, you need to pick good words to sell that sponsors site. If you picked a teen site then use words like: teens, teen sex, teen pussy. If you use words like: mature, fetish or gays for a teen site then you will not make sales. Only use words that are associated with the site.

- Choosing Prices Per Word
With Sex.com ppc system you can choose which words you want to position better in any search. If you have a teen site and you have 20 teen words, you might want 2 or 3 of them to be targeted more then the rest, so you give those words a better position on the search. This means you need to increase the bidding amount. Best to check the "view other bidders" page and see where your link will show up.

- Picking A Good Description
This is another key feature which you will need to review and work on. While I have seen descriptions that just say "FREE PORN", they are not always going to work. You need to give the surfer a reason to get his/her credit card out and signup for a membership otherwise your wasting your time. Now while most webmasters believe they are not the sales person, you are in fact the frontline sales force. If the surfer doesn't like your description or it doesn't appeal to him they will go onto the next advert, in which case you just lost a perspective sale.

The above key elements are just some of the ways to increase your income from sex.com ppc system. Here is an example that should work well (this is an example, not a live submission):

Sponsor/Site:
Platinum Bucks / Movie Erotica
Site Title:
High Quality Porn Movies / Credit Card needed $4.95 for 3 days
Description:
MovieErotica has over 1,500 hours of hardcore sex action in high quality movies covering 40+ different categories, plus 200,000 thousand pictures that will make your cock explode! Join today... Only $4.95 for 3 days.

Demo Stats
Take the above example and lets deposit $25 US into a demo account. With the above words and positioning, these are the results from each amount.

$0.04c pc = 625 clicks OR
$0.05c pc = 500 clicks OR
$0.06c pc = 416 clicks

Mixed positions costs:

$0.04 x 100 clicks = $4.00
$0.05 x 180 clicks = $9.00
$0.06 x 200 clicks = $12.00
===========
Total: $25.00
for 480 clicks

Let say your listing converts at 1:130 , you would make around 3 signups at $35 each (Total of $105). Not bad for a small investment. Of course these figures will change with different sponsors and ways you promote (keywords and description) the site.

Basically if this system didn't work no one would be using any ppc system. And while other ppc sites might cost less in bidding, Sex.com is the number one porn listing site that most new male internet surfers go to as their first site.

Sex.com PPC Reporting:
With your account you can find out which words got clicked the most on any day that listing was active. You can go back months and check up on previous listings you had. The stats and information is very detailed and easy to find inside:
