Give us a typical Monday at your desk?

Mondays are always a bit crazy around here. First thing I always do is start pulling down all of my email and then checking all of my ICQ messages. Then I usually hit the boards and industry news sites, so I can catch up. Around this time the whole company gets called into a Monday Morning Meeting. We go over all the production for the week, goals for the Internet division that week and anything else that needs to be discussed. This is the time in the week we usually hash out new product lines, new websites, new promotions, etc. Then I start replying to all of my emails. I do a check on customer service for the websites as well. I grab a quick lunch and head back to my desk. I figure out what the new updates will be and we start working on that content. At this point I usually do another email check and reply to those and do any follow up on contacts I have made. Then, throw in working with designers, special affiliate requests, having lots of laughs especially with office Nerf Ball wars, casting for our new blow job site and a ton of other details. I need another weekend by the end of Monday. Luckily we have the occasional “Bowling and Beers Friday” to reward our hard work!

What do you think is your greatest challenge or asset being a woman in the adult industry?

My greatest challenge is being underestimated because I am a woman, which I believe is also my greatest asset. However, I have found that my professionalism and abilities overcome preconceived notions.

What strategies do you use to maintain balance in your life?

I am the worst person to ask this question! It is especially hard for me because my boyfriend is also in the industry on the video production side. We also work together on some projects. So between the two of us there is a lot of work talk. We have to be careful to not make that a focal point of our relationship. But it is a bonus that he can relate to my industry and my occasionally crazy hours. I have set boundaries for my home and myself. No matter what, I have dinner with my boyfriend every night, I leave one weekend day to myself and all adult related material must stay in our home office. These little boundaries plus the required “Girl's Night Out” help me lead a more balanced life.

What advice would you give other women who want to enter your field?

Not to sound too cliché, but research, read and read some more. Get to know everything you can about the industry, your customers, your peers and the marketplace. Stay up-to-date on industry news and technology. Never be afraid to ask questions or to ask for advice. Never be afraid to try something new. Most of all treat others how you want to be treated. Respect can go a long way in this industry and in all areas of life.

It's Time to Rock the Vote and Make Your Voice Heard

When I worked to defeat California’s Proposition 60 in 2016, our opposition campaign was outspent nearly 10 to 1. Nevertheless, our community came together and garnered enough support and awareness to defeat that harmful, misguided piece of proposed legislation — by more than a million votes.

Account-to-Account Payments: The New Banking Disruptor?

So much of our industry relies upon Visa and Mastercard to support consumer payments — and with that reliance comes increased scrutiny by both brands. From a compliance perspective, the bar keeps getting raised until it feels like we end up spending half our time making sure we are compliant rather than growing our business.
