100 Top Stars of 2007

The term “porn star” is an overused moniker that has come to mean virtually anyone who’s appeared in an X-rated movie. It used to be that only the top tier of performers were referred to as porn stars, ever since Linda Lovelace, who generally is acknowledged as the first porn performer with bigtime name recognition.

But who are the real stars in the truest sense of the word?

Through the decades Marilyn Chambers, Seka, Ginger Lynn and Jenna Jameson branded their names and became recognized as international sex symbols, and each one played a large role in the mainstreaming of porn. They were bonafide porn stars.

Which brings us to the present day.

In today’s day in age when anyone who poses nude on the Internet is considered a porn star, it left us wondering who the real stars are.

The goal in naming the Top 100 Stars of 2007 was our attempt to recognize performers who enjoyed a standout year in 2007. We took a number of factors into consideration, namely number of appearances, strength of performances, box cover exposure and industry buzz, along with other intangible factors.

XBIZ Premiere also surveyed a cross section of industry professionals and performers for their input. We took their feedback into consideration when compiling this list.
