While some users may find the options rudimentary, according to its makers, the initial release of WordPress for Android focused on giving users the ability to manage their blog while on the go.
The app allows users to configure and manage multiple blogs; to moderate and reply to comments; to create and edit posts, including categories, tags and photos; to create and edit pages; and to be notified of new comments in the Android notification bar.
The latest release, now at version 1.1.3, has been updated to improve decoding efficiency, to increase support for special characters, and to improve the app's usability.
Based upon the now discontinued wpToGo, WordPress for Android received all of the benefits of the former's private development cycle, with contributors to the open source development efforts welcome at dev.android.wordpress.org.
If you're looking for a seamless way to run a website from an Android powered device, this is it. And best of all, WordPress for Android is available as a free download.
