iPhone Pulse: iTemplate

With all of the buzz surrounding the growth of the mobile adult marketplace and the iPhone's dominant role in it, many entrepreneurs are wondering how to get in on the action and how to turn new or existing content into their very own app. Politics, policies and procedures aside, the basic technical requirements are becoming ever easier to satisfy, due to the offering of an increasing number of products and services aimed at the app developer market — products such as the iTemplate Web App Starter Kit.

Targeting beginning users as well as webmasters looking for a quick and easy solution to developing a web app website, iTemplate comes with an HTML template file; sample image files in various formats; links to important creation and submission information; and a document explaining how to create and submit an app.

"We give you information that our design company has learned since day one of our online experience," states the iTemplate website, which goes on to say that expensive software is not required in order to use the program. "You can get started with a simple text editor that everyone already has."

Included in the latest version of the starter kit is iTemplate Backgrounds, which offers 30 custom backgrounds in various styles and colors, including Blue Fade, Filmstrip, Notebook Paper and more, all designed to work with iTemplate. The files are high-resolution .jpg format, lightweight and easy to load.

A package deal is available, which bundles the starter kit with 50 custom made iTemplate Icons of various mainstream themes including sports, Internet, transportation, and more. The icons look just like an iPhone's home screen icons, allowing iTemplate pages to use the icons as buttons and links. All icons are .png files with transparency shadows that work with any background or color.

While perhaps not suited to power users, iTemplate provides an easy way for operators to try their hand at app creation. Check it out and see if it meets your needs.
