Q&A: Fantasy Digital Unlocks Blockchain Business Potential for Creators

Fantasy Digital owner and co-founder Lorilee Fedler seeks to cultivate a blockchain-powered content creation ecosystem that leverages the latest advances in crypto, metaverse-ready tech and a platform primed for the decentralized next phase of the internet, also known as Web3.

Creators and fans can harness the platform’s FTXXX token and capitalize on non-fungible tokens (NFTs) — one-of-a-kind digital collectibles — via products such as StripNFTeases, FantasyFetishNFTs, FantasyGuyNFTs and ContentCreatorNFTs.

Fantasy Digital thinks outside the box, utilizing new technologies, social media and direct contact to attract content creators and fans; we bring the best parts of the ‘real world’ to the metaverse.

By combining subscription-based membership benefits and a play-to-earn rewards program that distributes earnings via a promotional pool account, Fantasy Digital aims to capitalize on future-leaning interactivity.

After making a splash at XBIZ Berlin and hosting Peep Show events in the well-known metaverse space Decentraland, featuring sexually explicit NFTs of fine art nudes and more hardcore fare, Fantasy Digital is recruiting creators and business partners to foster a vibrant community.

Now, Fedler reveals the inner workings behind her business and the brand’s coming milestones in this company profile, as Fantasy Digital prepares for the next phase of its rollout.

XBIZ: Discuss the launch of Fantasy Digital. What tech and business challenges have you had to overcome so far?

FEDLER: The other co-founders and I were so excited about the concept of Fantasy Digital that within the first few weeks, we had a website splash page, started the presale of our FTXXX token and began working on our MVP, the StripNFTease membership. It really was a whirlwind of ideas and concepts.

So far, the most significant tech challenge was integrating our smart contract into our metaverse properties and website, as well as ensuring that it had no major vulnerabilities. As for our business challenges, there were a few. We had to overcome finding the right partners who agreed on values — people over profits — and we did not bring enough awareness to the fact that we are an all-inclusive ecosystem, which is not limited to just creators and fans but open to studios and industry professionals as well.

XBIZ: In brief, what are the biggest differences between traditional content platforms and blockchain-based ones?

FEDLER: One significant key difference between the two platforms is transparency. Since we are on the blockchain, every transaction and smart contract can be reviewed; a digital ledger creates a level of trust that traditional platforms cannot achieve. Another significant difference is that there are no chargebacks. Last but not least, it’s completely anonymous for fans.

XBIZ: How do you ensure user anonymity via StripNFTeases and MetaMask integration?

FEDLER: We do not accept credit cards on Fantasy Digital. Therefore we do not need your personal information to verify a transaction in our ecosystem. To get a StripNFTease, you need to make a purchase with your FTXXX token in your MetaMask wallet. We use MetaMask, a Web3 browser that ensures anonymity by not storing personal information, just wallet addresses.

XBIZ: Explain the ins and outs of your rewards program, which offers tokens, NFT airdrops and digital wearables.

FEDLER: The “Participate 2 Earn” rewards program at Fantasy Digital is a unique concept that rewards both creators and fans for actions taken within our ecosystem. A portion of the reward pool on FTXXX transactions is redistributed to fans and creators monthly via an off-chain point system. We also offer random FTXXX tokens, NFT airdrops and digital wearables to event attendees and fans holding our tokens or StripNFTease memberships.

XBIZ: How do you curate content via FantasyFetishNFTs to monetize niche traffic?

FEDLER: Creators on Fantasy Digital can submit content to various fetish categories on our site. This allows the creators to capture multiple markets and will enable fans to only see the content they are looking for. Fans may purchase, subscribe and create custom requests to contact creators, ensuring access to all their interests, fantasies and desires. Creators get paid 95% off the top for all FantasyFetishNFT sales, and fans can also sell their NFTs and purchase new ones if their tastes change.

XBIZ: Where do you foresee the AR/VR market heading and how are you seeking to capitalize on such immersive opportunities?

FEDLER: I’m very excited to see how AR/VR develops. As a company, all we can do is be agile and offer the best possible solutions for creators and fans so they may interact with these future technologies. One of my future goals is to be able to project holographic content to fans. This will fundamentally change how content creators and fans interact. We have a lot of concepts that we will be rolling out and would love to discuss them at a later date.

XBIZ: How do you approach recruiting talent and empowering them for success?

FEDLER: By attending industry events and trade shows, as well as being active on social media, we can meet content creators and let them know who we are. Fantasy Digital strives for first interactions to be visual, preferably in person, because I personally love talking directly with creators. It helps me identify their needs, so we can build a customized plan that empowers them and helps them reach their goals. They are the ecosystem’s future, so it is crucial that they know we are here for them and that they are more than just a number.

XBIZ: Tell us a bit about your team behind the scenes and how you foster a collaborative work environment.

FEDLER: The Fantasy team is a small, tight-knit group of friends that have worked on numerous successful projects together over the last 18 years. Having a few specialized individuals gives each expert the power and isolation necessary for rapid iterative changes, which is essential to tech startups.

XBIZ: Describe your overall marketing philosophy for getting the word out about your brand, while also educating the community about Web3 and digital collectibles.

FEDLER: Fantasy Digital thinks outside the box, utilizing new technologies, social media and direct contact to attract content creators and fans; we bring the best parts of the “real world” to the metaverse. A great example would be users dressing their avatars with our wearables; they become a digital billboard with a link directly to our ecosystem. The potential for a wearable to become a conversation starter between users is tremendous. The best advertising will always be having and mirroring what others have and do.

XBIZ: What milestones are coming up for Fantasy Digital in 2022 and next year? Lay out your road map and vision.

FEDLER: Fantasy Digital will continue aggressively recruiting in person and on social media. We will continue to develop our monthly StripNFTease model search while completing the ecosystem features to connect creators with the fans and their fantasies. We are very excited about the overall response to our events held in the Decentraland Metaverse. We will continue to pursue virtual NFT showcases, seminars, movie premieres and a VR trade show. We envision the ecosystem being managed by the creators via our ContentCreatorsDAO, which we plan to implement around the middle of 2023.
