Stills from Bella Vendetta’s directorial debut, “The Training of Poe,” will be showcased at the SWOP (Sex Workers Outreach Program) Chicago art show on Mar. 8.
On Friday, a crowd of about 100 gathered outside Vancouver’s St. Paul’s Anglican Church to unveil a lamppost with a red bulb in tribute to sex workers who plied their trade up until the early 1980s when they were chased out by authorities after a new statute took effect.
The Sex Workers Outreach Project has published a toolkit, containing background about the annual March 3 event, print handouts and social media images, quotes and ideas for commemorating this day.
