"I attribute it to the fans coming out in droves," Vette told XBIZ. "The last day, the Vette Nation Army was kicking ass and taking names."
Vette told XBIZ that she started campaigning for the Booble award "on the evening of July 31. We were campaigning pretty hard the entire month. I'm pretty exhausted."
As the race came to the end, there was some friction as Patrick offered to to contribute the $5,000 prize to charity and Vette responded with a 1,300-word press release that said, "While the porn world was sleeping I was IMing, texting, messaging and bulletining my fans all over the world, one by one, vote by vote."
Vette told XBIZ that Patrick's campaigning near the end of the contest caused her some concern.
"When Tera got involved and started pushing, we were worried," Vette said. "She's beautiful, she has a huge fan base, she has 225,000 friends on MySpace. We were very worried about that."
Vette told XBIZ that she plans to take a short break, then "start promoting the AIDS Walk here in Atlanta like crazy. It's really important to me. I'm inviting fans, website members, all the people I know on the Internet to come and do the walk with me, and everybody can contribute."
