There’s just one catch: They’ll have to pay for the uncensored action.
After 11 years as the network’s top-rated show, E! recently stopped taping new episodes of Stern’s show in reaction to his move from broadcast radio to satellite.
In Demand Networks stepped in and, earlier this week, announced it would begin offering edited — but uncensored — video-on-demand content from Stern’s show to cable companies.
In Demand is essentially creating an entire channel for Stern, and viewers will pay a monthly subscription fee to receive blocks of video from the show — without the pixilated patches that cover up the best parts, In Demand spokesman Eric Duncan said.
According to some reports, In Demand will offer 20 hours of Stern programming each month, which subscribers can view repeatedly at any time throughout the month for a fee of around $10.
The free-for-all format should be a boon for adult companies that use the show for marketing and publicity purposes.
Porn stars are frequent guests of Stern’s show, including Smash Pictures’ Britney Rears and Digital Playground contract stars Jesse Jane and Teagan Presley.
Jenna Jameson’s frequent appearances on the show helped catapult her into crossover success, and Stern often features adult stars in special segments such as the Hush DVD-sponsored “Miss Porn Star Beauty Pageant,” in which Nectar Entertainment’s Taylor Rain took top honors competing against Kami Andrews, Railee, Renee Pornero and Aurura Snow.
In Demand currently goes out to 15 million U.S. homes.
