“Deep Throat” is slated to debut at Terminal Press’ booth 1221 at next week’s Comic-Con in San Diego July 24-27. The book, of which features only 200 copies on first printing only is available at Comic-Con or on the TerminalPress.com website.
Terminal Press’ put a sci-fi spin on “Deep Throat,” which features Linda Lovelace as a woman cursed with having her clitoris when her tonsils should be — like in the classic Golden Age film. Upon discovering Lovelace’s unique anatomy, President Richard Nixon dispatches his “less than human” government enforcer to track her down for some hanky-panky in the Oval Office.
The books are non pornographic but intended for mature audiences.
“I gave Terminal Press my idea of turning ‘Deep Throat’ into a spy thriller with super sexual solders and they ran with it,” Arrow Productions Marketing Director Robert Interlandi said. “The idea is kind of like James Bond is Linda Lovelace, but Linda has super powers and she wants to take down Nixon instead of the Russians. This comic book should open up the ‘Deep Throat’ franchise more than any other licensed product.”
Terminal Press Owner Brian Ferrara said that the best thing about working with Arrow was the artistic license they gave him for each comic.
"Working on these iconic properties with the freedom we've been given has been inspiring to everyone involved," Ferrara said. "Arrow metaphorically dumped out the toy box in front of us and just let us play- I think that fun and excitement comes across in each of these titles."
“Deep Throat” was written by Keith McCleary with art by Alex Riegel and colors by Narek Gevorgian.
The next two iconic adult films to get the Terminal Press comic book treatment are “Candy Stripers,” “The Devil and Ms. Jones” and “Johnny Wad.” The company also is in talks to create toys based on the characters.
