OLATHE, Kansas — Online novelty boutique SinlessTouch has taken a philanthropic attitude for its year-old company.
With donations from its online customer base, the company has adopted three children from Argentina, Gambia and India as part of its Adopt-a-Child Charity program, through the nonprofit social development organization SOS Children’s Village.
Donations go towards providing education, or transportation to schools, for children in Third World countries. Customers have the option of donating to the charity during checkout by rounding up the dollar amount of their purchases, passing on their “electronic spare change” to the program. Photos and updates on each adopted child are available on the company’s website.
The founders of the company credit their success to the strong examples set by their parents’ ambitions and sacrifices, making early childhood education in developing nations a cause they have embraced.
“The Adopt a Child Charity Program is our commitment to society,” said Jessica Blake vice president of corporate communications for the company. “We’ve always known that a sustainable business needs the support of healthy communities and a high-quality environment. We aim to be the most trusted retailer wherever we trade by demonstrating a clear sense of social responsibility.”
Jerome Daniels, director of communications and marketing for the company, said the company believes providing a resource for these children through education aids in eliminating cycles of dependency.
“By empowering these children through education we hope they can learn to find ways to sustain themselves,” Daniels told XBIZ.
SinlessTouch aims at providing customers an Amazon.com-style adult experience by offering a combination of adult toys, lubes and lotions, lingerie, fetish gear, instructional sex education literature, accessories, product reviews and romantic vacations.
