Smartphone Users Love Online Porn, Study Says

CYBERSPACE — The verdict is in — U.S. smartphone users love the Internet — and online porn.

According to research firm M:Metrics, smartphone users are online for almost five hours a month, mainly visiting Google, Yahoo, MySpace, ESPN and others.

Among the 600 websites users accessed during April 2008, around 20 of them are porn sites.

Topping the list are RealityKings.com, Brazzers.com, WannaWatch.com, BangBros1.com and Literotica.com.

“This just confirms what we’ve all known for quite awhile now,” said NaughtyBank.com owner Jake Chase. “People are using mobile technology to access porn.”

Chase’s amateur site featuring his wife Naughty Allie rounded out the list at No. 20.

“We’re going to see this upward trend continue as more and more users switch over from standard cellphones to smartphones,” Chase told XBIZ. “It was barely a year ago that smartphones like the Blackberry were used primarily by business people. With the advent of the iPhone, and its imitators, smartphones are ending up in the hands of the average consumer at exponentially increasing rates.”

“It’s pretty cool that our site made the list,” Jason Quinlan, director of marketing for OCCash (No. 12), told XBIZ. “Things could get pretty exciting for [the online adult industry], especially with the availability of the iPhone G3. But I don’t think things will be able to take off until mobile billing issues can be resolved. And I think we’re still a few years away from that happening.”
