Camera crews followed the performers at January’s Adult Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas and for several weeks afterward. Each star was profiled for the episode, which explores the lives of influential women in the adult industry.
Patrick will be featured in footage as she spends time with family members, which will give viewers a rare glimpse into her personal life.
“They shot me at the house because they wanted to get some family bits of me, and they interviewed my sister Debbie, who is two years younger than me,” Patrick told XBIZ in a previous interview. “It was actually the first time that anyone in my family has ever appeared on camera. So, my sister was really happy to do the piece and she put some rumors to rest and I guess she tells some secrets about me. You’ll have to tune into the episode to see.”
During the segment, Patrick also talks about the development of her Mistress Couture lingerie/clubwear line, and gives the crew a tour of a room in her house completely devoted to her collection of Hello Kitty.
Patrick also commented on Buck Angel, who is profiled for the show as the best-known female-to-male transsexual performer in the world.
“That’s something that I’m really excited about,” Patrick said. “I’m one of his biggest fans. I love Buck. He’s such a cool guy and such an inspiration on the GLBT world — he’s a very positive influence.”
Angel — who has appeared in several DVD titles, runs a production company and travels the world for various performances and speaking engagements — is a controversial choice for the show.
“That’s what people want to see, how other people react to ‘the man with the pussy,’” Angel told XBIZ. “And you’ll see it — people are actually very nice to me and very cool. Nobody really freaks out — as if they expect me to have a pussy.”
Nicki Hunter was profiled as she returned to the industry after a year-long hiatus when she was battling leukemia.
“We were able to talk about my battle with leukemia,” Hunter told XBIZ, “and bouncing back from that.
“I sat down and did interviews and they wanted to know about me and my company — not just Nicki Hunter, the porn star, but they wanted to know who I really am,” Hunter added. “My secret life behind the scenes and it was a lot of fun because I was able to show that my life consists of just more than running onto the set, having sex and partying all the time.”
Gina Lynn has gained mainstream recognition with appearances on shows including HBO’s “The Sopranos,” a music video for rapper Eminem’s “Superman,” and also several film credits.
Cameras from “Secret Lives of Women” follow Lynn through the process of making a full body mold.
“They followed me around in Las Vegas for the Adult Entertainment Expos which was crazy,” Lynn said. “We had them around for the body cast as well. I’ve done it a few times before. The artist uses the molds to make art pieces and sells them for charity.”
