The star of such hits as "Dude, Where's My Car?" and "The Butterfly Effect" caught the porn bug while working on his latest movie, the sex comedy "Spread," which follows a compulsive lothario as he sleeps around and tries to deal with a jilted lover.
Apparently the scenes for "Spread" were heated enough to inspire thoughts of a career change in Kutcher.
"I [made] a sort of, like, a porno-pseudo-comedy movie," he said. "So maybe I'll do some more porno."
Mullen, who directed "Not The Bradys XXX" and "Not Bewitched," would be only too happy to take him up on that offer.
"I want to go on public record right now that I will offer Ashton Kutcher the sum of $1,000 to play the role of Jethro," Mullen said, adding that Kutcher's Iowa upbringing would serve him well as the Clampett's good-natured airhead.
"It wouldn't be much of a stretch," said Mullen, who said he ran into Kutcher a few years ago while shooting a movie and called him a "very nice guy."
As Jethro, Kutcher would be playing his scenes opposite Bree Olson, who's been cast as Ellie May Clampett.
Kutcher noted the success that some — admittedly rare — adult industry luminaries have had in both the adult and mainstream entertainment industries.
"It worked for Jenna Jameson," he said. "I was actually in London last week, and they knew who Ron Jeremy was. He's a famous porn star in London, as well."
