A 30-second video clip featuring the star of UPN’s “Eve” and frequent duet partner of Gwen Stefani has burned up the Internet over the past several days.
Dated Nov. 20, 1999, the video shows Eve’s former boyfriend, Bad Boy Entertainment producer Stevie J., using a dildo on the then-21-year-old.
A spokesperson for Eve told the New York Daily News that legal action has been taken to have the clip removed from websites, but that isn’t likely to do much to stop people from continuing to email the video.
The spokesperson pointed out that the tape was intended to remain private and appealed to fans to refrain from forwarding it.
“The fact that a private moment is being made public is a violation, and we would hope that people would respect her privacy as they would their own,” the spokesperson said.
An unnamed friend of the “Barbershop” star also told the Daily News that Eve had hired a private investigator to find the source of the leak. Stevie J. has denied any involvement, citing that he is horrified the tape got out because he has children.
This isn’t the first time has run into trouble with racy images leaking out to the public. Two years ago, a nude photo of Eve, a former stripper made its way around the Internet.
