Curtis maintains a website of behind-the-scenes photographs and commentary from his shoots at LethalHardcore.com, including those of Ebony Productions and Lethal Hardcore, two companies under the Celestial umbrella.
Curtis described “Buttz” as a “Ghetto sex romp featuring today’s hoochiest of Mommas.”
Celestial, founded in 1998, released this title under its Ebony banner, Curtis said, while the Lethal Hardcore label is being developed as a studio for “leading adult starlets performing in beautifully-shot contemporary sex scenarios. “
An issue for many video companies seeking to diversify their product lines, All Media Play President Jeff Mullen told XBiz, is branding various lines to a particular company without creating confusion among customers.
Mullen, who handles publicity for Celestial and its offshoots, said, “Curtis is the fast-talking hustler who writes, produces and directs most of his material, and has a bunch of things going at once. We need to identify these divergent lines as all coming from under Stoney’s roof.”
Both Mullen and Curtis predict that Lethal Hardcore will be the “dominant face” of Stoney’s product, even as titles like “Phat Buttz” represent an emerging trend in all African-American adult casts.
