PleasureMeNow founder Ron Jacks told XBiz that Johanson’s choice of silicon for her assorted line of dildos and vibrators resulted in a durable product that is easily cleaned. “I believe she has more say in her branded products than some of the adult stars who might just be lending their names to a toy line,” he said.
Jacks said that silicon has a very smooth feel, is relatively firm and is not as malleable as latex or “skin”-like products.
“Talk Sex,” which broadcasts from Canada, has made the middle-aged Johanson one of the most recognized sex authorities since Dr. Ruth Westheimer. Johanson regularly talks about toys as sex aids during her show.
Jacks and partner Rebecca Smith started PleasureMeNow in 2002, designing their website to attract women and couples. They are particularly gratified when senior citizens call to offer testimonials. “That we’ve created a friendly, navigable site is something we’re very proud of,” Jacks said, “especially since we didn’t make a single sale in our first two months of operation.”
The company has been making sales ever since, Jacks added.
California Exotic Novelties is manufacturing the toys under Johanson’s brand. CalExotics also manufactures products for Tera Patrick, Gina Lynn, Shane’s World and gay studio COLT.
