Events kicked off with a parking lot party at the Faultline bar on Sunday night, but are slated throughout the rest of the week.
Other events featured include a Cigar Social event to be held at The Eagle on March 28. At the party, San Francisco’s Folsom Street Events will unveil their 25th anniversary commemorative poster for this year’s Folsom Street Fair.
In addition, the Eagle will host an after party for the Mr. Los Angeles Leather Contest on Saturday night. On Sunday, the bar will throw a beer bust event benefiting the Eagle’s own rugby team, the L.A. Rebellion.
Folsom Street Events and gay adult production company TitanMen will co-sponsor events at The Eagle, with merchandise giveaways including Folsom-branded videos from Titan.
Fautline will also host an official LAL Alpha Max after party event on Saturday night.
“LAL: Xposed to the Other Side” events will also take place. The Xposed Pansexual Play Party on March 29 open to all gay leather men and hetero BDSM lifestylers, and will start at 9 p.m. PDT.
The Xposed Day of Kink will be held on March 30, and will have a jock and harness fashion show featuring ten regional finalists from the Mr. Los Angeles Leather contest. There will also be a fashion show with latex, PVC and leather fashions for men and women.
Live performances include a percussive spanking demonstration by Paindancer, and An Xpose of Pain Play by Marina.
Admission to the Day of Kink is $15. Both LAL Xposed events will be held at The Abundant Sugar Loft @ The Brewery, 618A Moulton Ave in Los Angeles.
On Friday night, the Southland Honors Awards will recognize achievements or excellence and community service in the local leather community. The event includes a cocktail hour and food, and is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Miyako Hotel, in Los Angeles.
On Saturday night, the 9th annual Mr. Los Angeles Leather contest will take place at Aratani Japan America Theatre, starting at 7 p.m. The event will pit ten regional finalist against each other for the title, and the winner will go on to compete in the International Mr. Leather competition, in Chicago on Memorial Day weekend.
Also on the slate for L.A. Leather Week: The Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood will screen leather cult classic, “Cruising” starring Al Pacino and Paul Sorvino, on Wednesday night.
The Hell on Wheels fetish-themed skate night will be held Thursday at the Moonlight Rollerway, in Glendale, Calif. The event benefits the Los Angeles Leather Coalition (LALC), a nonprofit organization dedicated to facilitating “communication and mutual understanding among different segments of the leather-affiliated community, as well as promote unity through cooperative endeavors that offer entertainment, education, social interaction, and community service.”
A GLBT film festival, to also benefit the LALC, will be shown Friday night at the Miyako Hotel. Tickets are $10.
