“Ricardo has basically been the most recognizable face to come out of our studio in the past year,” AMG President Dennis Bell said. “Along with becoming a recognizable name in the industry, he’s been the most dedicated of our models both in front of and behind the camera.”
Onça has performed for AMG since he was discovered waiting tables in Ipanema in 2006. His debut title for the studio was 2007’s “Suruba: Tropicus.” He has since appeared in six titles, including AMG 2007 release “Amazônia: Capture and Release.”
The performer recently wrapped production on upcoming release “Carnaval,” which Bell told XBIZ was filmed during the pre-Lent festivities in Rio de Janeiro. The boisterous atmosphere of the event provided colorful background for the film, which pairs exclusive models with amateurs.
“I love everything about this business,” Onça said. “If I could, I’d be a star forever, but I know that’s not a possibility, so I’m trying to build my skills behind the camera. Who knows, maybe one of these days my credits won’t all be for acting.”
2007 Brazilian honorees were identical twins Caio and Carlos Carvalho, who starred in AMG Brasil’s “Gemêos.”
