D-Money Brings Back ‘The D-Money Show’

LOS ANGELES — After a lengthy hiatus Darren Blatt, aka D-Money, is bringing back his popular adult webmaster entertainment program “The D-Money Show” to D-MoneyShow.com.

Blatt, founder of the renowned Players Ball series of private webmaster parties, started his Internet show in 1999. Blatt told XBIZ that the program served as an “ongoing documentary” featuring those in the online side of the adult entertainment industry.

“I started the show doing behind-the-scenes type reporting and interviews from trade shows,” Blatt said. “I wanted to show the personal side of people in the business. We showed tons of party coverage, interviews with big players and all the activity on the show floor.”

Blatt explained that his show capitalized on a time where social networking hadn’t taken hold and FUBAR (adult webmaster photographers) hadn’t come on the scene yet. The D-Money Show was a way for webmasters to get to know the person “behind the ICQ nickname or board persona,” Blatt said.

Early guests of “The D-Money Show” featured CC Bill’s Ron Cadwell, Epassporte’s Chris Mallick, ICS’s Joe “Lensman” Lackey and Blatt’s brother, adult entrepreneur and Gamelink.com PR man, Kevin Blatt.

Around 2002 Blatt changed the format of his show to a live radio platform, which ran for an additional three years. Blatt remembers his last show as having guests on from Acacia, and his interview was used in testimony in subsequent court cases.

At its height, “The D-Money Show” registered 1,000-2,000 unique visitors for each show.

Blatt said the timing was just right to bring the program back.

“The bottom line is the show was just so entertaining it was ripe for a comeback,” he said. “The site still has traffic and I always get asked when its coming back, so that time is now. It’s a great viral marketing tool for webmasters and it will facilitate business among members of the online adult community.”

Blatt plans to relaunch the show’s archives in Flash video format and is planning a live show with his brother titled “It’s A Bro Thing.”

Before The D-Money Show returns, however, Blatt has released a series of prank calls with recognizable industry members (including one with this reporter) “to wet everyone’s whistle in anticipation of what’s to come.”
