Experienced and new talent are encouraged to attend, and several celebrity clients have been added to the guest list.
The open house will be held from 3-6 p.m. on February 14, and industry members can RSVP at casting@worldmodeling.com.
Iconic World Modeling owner Jim South told XBIZ that the agency has been operational for a week and a half. The staff is in the process of updating the agency’s computer database, which in its heyday listed more than 1,000 performers.
“We’ve been contacting all the people on it to see who’s around, who wants work,” South told XBIZ. “Once we finish and we see about who the people are that aren’t in the business anymore, or their numbers changed and whittle down so that we can spend a little more individual time with people. We’ll have a lot less people, which is the way I would like it.”
South said that he is reopening World Modeling with a more streamlined and updated business format; handling less models than in the past, adding more on-staff drivers and using the Internet as its primary platform for publicity, as opposed to the newspaper ads of the past.
World Modeling was the first and dominant talent-booking agency in the adult industry from the late 1970s and into late 2000. At one time, South and the agency represented nearly every major performer, including Jenna Jameson, Tera Patrick, Ginger Lynn, Christy Canyon, Peter North, Tom Byron and Sean Michaels, among many others.
