OC3Networks Taps Jim Gurol As New CEO

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — OC3Networks announced today that it has appointed Jim Gurol, an Internet industry veteran and long-time advisor to OC3, as the company’s new CEO.

“This appointment reflects where OC3 is headed and it starts at the top to stay at the top,” said Ilan Mishan, owner of OC3. “This appointment reflects the significant need for strong leadership and guidance to take OC3Networks to the next stage. Jim’s experience will be invaluable to OC3.”

Gurol said he was “very excited about OC3Networks’ growth opportunity in 2008 and beyond.”

“Enterprises and content providers are all looking for advanced, secure and inexpensive managed hosting solutions along with a reliable co-location provider,” Gurol said. “I believe we now have a new team in place to facilitate the growth in this high demand market. To accomplish the goals of the company and to meet your expectations, I plan to immediately upgrade the company’s CRM software and work directly with clients.”

Gurol has already released a preliminary list of features that OC3 clients can expect to see in the future, including a new website that will allow for “real-time availability of services and information;” completion of the integration of CRM software Ubersmith DE; new dedicated server offerings including multi-core CPU's and SA-SCSI (SAS) hard drives; and the introduction of advanced administrative features such as client-configurable automated data backups, client-configurable public DNS and remote O/S re-install.

One thing that will remain consistent under Gurol’s leadership, according to OC3 VP of Sales and Operations Alex Ferrier, is the company’s commitment to customer service.

“Our dedication to customer support is at the top of our list,” Ferrier said. “Taking pride in our company as a whole allows us to offer managed hosting on an entirely new level. We love what we do, and we love being in the data center business.”
